I have heard recently (more than once actually (the source doesn't come to mind at the moment)) that MGE can't be a good game because in software history, games that have been delayed multiple times usually die hard and fast. It may seem this way to many, I mean, even I have been not as enthusiastic about the game day after day.

Maybe it's just hitting me and I'm getting used to not having the game. (Of course, maybe that feeling is just coming from my little Starcraft craze) I've heard people go as far as to say that just because it's had so many delays there must be something wrong with the game or the gameplay is boring or not right. But of course, that brings up the question, "How can you make Civ 2 a BAD game?" I personally don't think that that is possible. But of course I'm going to stay open minded and I'm going to buy the game.

I agree, patience is a virtue... but is there such a thing as being too patient? MPS might save themselves a lot of criticism if they set realistic timelines! No? Daniel Quick |
(Well how else am I going to be able to see what it's like? )
The thing is, I still get goosebumps thinking of the hours of fun crushing my friends in a "friendly" game of MGE. Or joining CivLeague and being #1, of course, that probably won't happen.
I really have no real point to this article except that no matter what people say, or what the critics tell me or the release date for that matter. I won't lose my faith in Microprose's ability to deliver quality games, so until MGE is released I'll just have to put up with Starcraft. Come on! Just a little further!
