  • Famous Civ blog "Fastmoves" joins forces with Apolyton!

Apolyton Civilization Site is very Proud to announce that Fastmoves, a blog known for it's high quality Civilization strategy articles (and much more), has joined us! You've been able to read the first blogs of Shizanu and jobe yesterday already. Both Shizanu and jobe joined us on GamesCom in Germany and we had a great time together. We are looking forward to continue to work together overhere on Apolyton. We're still looking into ways to migrate the entire 'old' Fastmoves blog legacy to Apolyton. As with all member blogs on Apolyton, you can visit their blogs using the url's mentioned above. For now their Civ4 content is accessable on http://fastmoves.wordpress.com.

It's good to see Apolyton moving forward again Robert and Co. I always though that the Apolyton University was a great concept, perhaps you should dust off that idea and give it some new blood.

  • Apolyton has upgraded to vBulletin 4.2.0
    by Martin Gühmann
Apolyton has upgraded to vBulltetin 4.2.0. We still have to fix some issues.

The menu of the downloads has to be rebuilt and some menu items are still missing. Also there are some problems with keeping the download tab selected.

The menu of the MP Arena has also be fixed so far it is displayed on top of the Apolyton forum menu, probably I have also rebuild it.

The List and the Apolyton University have been removed from the Apolyton navigation tab bar. We went out of space for them with the new What's New? tab. Since The List and the Apolyton University aren't that active anyway, and new What's New? tab seems to be more interesting I think this is the better choice.

For some reason on the forum home the side bar with all the news item is now under the forum list. It is possible that this is only true for certain browsers with certain settings.

Merging the existing styles with the vBulletin modifications did not cause any trouble this time. So now you can select a mobile style from the bottom style chooser. Maybe I will adjust the color choice of this, but probably it is fine as it is.

The forum has now a manager for the top navbar, so I we can reorganize the links and menus there....

Apolyton is upgrading to vBulletin 4.2.0. vBulletin 4.2.0 comes with with a new way to customize the forum menu bar so that I can put there in a drop down menu links to the games we cover. vBulletin 4.2.0 comes also with a mobile style. Let's see how that turns out. To upgrade Apolyton from vBulletin 4.1.10 to vBulltein 4.2.0 we must close the forums for a short while. This is the plan...

Around January 28, 2012 01:00 GMT+1 Apolyton crashed down. The reason was that we ran out of space. Looks like you uploaded to many big attachments. Well, I freed some space. Well, it took me some time to figure this out. And probably it didn't help that I was a bit sick. We were shortly back on Monday, but had problems with posts displaying, we restored the site from a recent backup, so your noise from Monday is gone. But well, we still have the search index , which probably took the longest to fix...
