I´ve played a couple of MP Arena games now and would like to share some thoughts regarding possible settings from a "what´s fun", but also "what´s fair and interesting for a competetive game" perspective.
So far we´ve been playing mostly duels and a few ffa games (4-6 people, everyone for himself, not always war).

Kael, the modder behind Fall From Heaven, arguably the most famous Civ Mod ever created, has developed a modular mod for Civ5 - modular meaning it can run next to any other mod.
It´s called "Legions - A Mod for Stacked Unit Combat in Civilization5" and is available on the ingame Mod Hub.

After rah´s City States centred Strategy this is another attempt at exploring general strategy in the brand new Civilization V. The strategies and ideas I´ll present in the first couple of articles have proven themselves in Single Player on Deity difficulty - that though defnitely does not mean they represent some fundamental truth. This is the very beginning of this game and I definitely hope it has enough depth that we´ll see lots and lots of development in strategies and understanding of
Sean and me spend the world wide launch of civ5 with a MP duel (and some waiting for the game to actually be available ).
We played Egypt vs. France on duel sized Inland_Sea. It was quick game speed and in an attempt to keep land fair(er), we used legendary resources.
