  • Apolyton hosts your files

Apolyton's download section has been back for a while. So it is time to introduce it to you. You can upload your files, like screenshots, modding resources, and finished mods to Apolyton, so that all civers of of the world can play your mods. You can upload up to 250 MB per file if you use the rar or the civ5mod format. So there is no need to host your files on some third party site, this way we can make sure that they stay available. Your files are published immediately. We do not review them, because we trust you.

If you need new categories or for a certain file type more space, ask for it here and if reasonable we will grant it.

    How does it work:

Go to Downloads on the Apolyton menu bar. It is the fourth item on the bar after, Sptlight, Forum, and Blogs. Then go to the category where you want to add the file, for instance: Civilization V > Downloads > Mods. There click on the bar below the Spotlight bar Add Entry. Fill out the form, by adding a nice name, which preferably contains the version and also the game it is for. Since this will appear on our what's going on side bar and people what like to know what game your entry is for before they click on the link. After the name you add an interesting description, to make the people to want to download your file. And then you upload your file and also an interesting preview image. Finally, you click the submit button on the bottom on the form and then your file is online.

For now, upload your files, the civ community needs them.

Well, first get the spelling right. Then go to our download section select the right category, let's say you wanna upload a CTP2 scenario then go to Call to Power 2 -> Downloads -> Scenarios, there go to the secondary menu bar click on Add Entry, fill out the form and upload your scenario.

Yes, you can, I even don't mind if it is civ related stuff like, screenshots, scenarios, mods, guides, etc. Why don't you just upload a Civ5 mod?

Well, and for the abusers we have some nice stuff in stock. For the boring start I can take the upload ability, then of course we have the post throttle, only posting in certain forums, etc. So wonderful instruments of torture.

I was just going to use it to store porn. It's all my own, so there will be no copyright infringement, if that's what you're worried about.

  • Apolyton has upgraded to vBulletin 4.2.0

Apolyton has upgraded to vBulltetin 4.2.0. We still have to fix some issues.

The menu of the downloads has to be rebuilt and some menu items are still missing. Also there are some problems with keeping the download tab selected.

The menu of the MP Arena has also be fixed so far it is displayed on top of the Apolyton forum menu, probably I have also rebuild it.

The List and the Apolyton University have been removed from the Apolyton navigation tab bar. We went out of space for them with the new What's New? tab. Since The List and the Apolyton University aren't that active anyway, and new What's New? tab seems to be more interesting I think this is the better choice.

For some reason on the forum home the side bar with all the news item is now under the forum list. It is possible that this is only true for certain browsers with certain settings.

Merging the existing styles with the vBulletin modifications did not cause any trouble this time. So now you can select a mobile style from the bottom style chooser. Maybe I will adjust the color choice of this, but probably it is fine as it is.

The forum has now a manager for the top navbar, so I we can reorganize the links and menus there....

Around January 28, 2012 01:00 GMT+1 Apolyton crashed down. The reason was that we ran out of space. Looks like you uploaded to many big attachments. Well, I freed some space. Well, it took me some time to figure this out. And probably it didn't help that I was a bit sick. We were shortly back on Monday, but had problems with posts displaying, we restored the site from a recent backup, so your noise from Monday is gone. But well, we still have the search index , which probably took the longest to fix...
