    User generated content on apolyton.net - why and how to

    Yes, user generated content. Web 2.0. Blah blah. Yet another site which tries to cut down on the own work load by hiring the users to generate the site's content for free, you might think. But in reality, it's the other way round. Any site - and Apolyton of course is no difference here - is all about the users. As a coder you see users as something somehow ambigous - the paranoid in you always thinks of SQL injections and XSS attacks and of other malicious ways people try to to exploit your beautiful code, your creation. Somehow you tend to forget then that the users are the only reason why any site exists. Web design is no purpose beyond, no state of the art, no thing good in itself. As any art it needs the beholder.

    Famous Civ blog "Fastmoves" joins forces with Apolyton!

    Apolyton Civilization Site is very Proud to announce that Fastmoves, a blog known for it's high quality Civilization strategy articles (and much more), has joined us! You've been able to read the first blogs of Shizanu and jobe yesterday already. Both Shizanu and jobe joined us on GamesCom in Germany and we had a great time together. We are looking forward to continue to work together overhere on Apolyton. We're still looking into ways to migrate the entire 'old' Fastmoves blog legacy to Apolyton. As with all member blogs on Apolyton, you can visit their blogs using the url's mentioned above. For now their Civ4 content is accessable on http://fastmoves.wordpress.com.

    Moving to this new environment was not easy.
    Migrating a legacy of 12 years, all kinds of tools, techniques and software, was not an easy job. We are not finished yet. Many things may still be missing. Please let us know in our Apolyton forums. We can't promise that everything can be moved, but we will certainly try.

    We are working on even more really cool stuff, so stay tuned.
