  • I bet you like groping women too... or at least talking about groping women.
Last I checked I was still #NeverTrump. Yo. I never have nor will support Trump.

And Obama's already spent 9.5 trillion in his term, with more still to go.

The little voice in America's head
We have a lot of nut jobs in Europe too, the difference is that their range is limited so they only really **** their own country up.

It's a common joke/wish in the rest of the world the everybody should be allowed to vote in American elections because everything America does has such huge consequences for the rest of the world.

No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Last time we had a ....uhh...non-establishment guy was not so great for the rest of the world either....

        Ok, technically he wasn't elected....

        • it's rather ironic that after a year or more of outrageous public statements in which he has insulted everyone imaginable, what has sunk trump is a 10-year-old private conversation that, although it doesn't exactly paint him in the best light, is no worse than one might hear in any changing room.

i wonder what effect this will have on the republican party. cutting trump loose is one thing, but what trump represents won't be so easily suppressed; and now his supporters are going to feel an incredible sense of betrayal.

          • I don't hang around a lot in changing rooms, but my general feeling (as I told somebody on FB) is that if I heard some dude bragging about how random chicks let him grab them by the ****, I'd assume he was either an extraordinarily douchey fratboy or the kind of fine, upstanding citizen entrepreneur who cooks meth in his kitchen. I mean, talking about sex, sure. Bragging endlessly about sexual conquests, sometimes with grotesque exaggerations and no respect for a girl's privacy, yes. Extremely dirty jokes about what you'd like to do to so-and-so? Yup. But I can't say I've ever heard somebody brag about actually criminal sexual behavior.

            • i've heard worse to be honest. i'm not saying it's okay, but it is funny that it's this that finally derails his bid.

              • My hope is that his sexual assault claims are just as incredible as all his other hyperbolic boasts. In that case, his comments were crude and not even remotely presidential, but possibly nothing more than him doing what he always does: trying to impress people. (There is still something deeply problematic about a guy who thinks the way to impress people is by claiming that he can commit sexual assault without repercussions.)

If Trump had appeared just as horrible but actually competent and focused, he would probably be at least neck and neck. We'll take tyrants, but buffoons are a bit much. Obama didn't spend that. You're making things up. Typical Ben fashion.

He's been accused of sexual assault. By a 13 year old girl and his ex-wife to be exact.

                            No it's really not.

You're a great character. So if you had a lot of money, it gives you a right to grab whatever women you want and assault her?

Enjoyable huh? That's sex for you?

I never said sex wasn't enjoyable. I'm just not a pig like you.

                            • "...nothing so simple. Nothing anything like so straightforward. On its world, the people are people. The leaders are lizards. The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford. "It is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them," said Ford. "They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates to the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards?"
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for the lizard," said Ford, "the wrong lizard might get in. Got any gin?"
                              "What?"
