  • Adam Smith is dead

It is with great sadness that I inform you that Adam Smith, the Apolyton poster, who contributed to SMAC discussions, independent civ projects (IIUC) and to this off topic forum, passed away, peacefully, at home, this past Sunday morning.

I had the privilege of knowing him in person and working with him, as well as seeing his posts here. He was a good economist, and, more importantly, a fine, kind, humorous human being. The world is diminished by his passing.

Oh, no. What was the matter?

    RIP.

My understanding is that he suffered from prostate cancer.

this is terrible. His posts always reflected a kind, nuanced person. I think you can clearly give our condolences to his family and friends in case you are in any way familiar with them.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I knew he was sick. Up until a couple of months ago there was hope that things would work out for him. Then things took a turn for the worse.
