It seems worth noting, incidentally, that the media/commentary sphere goes into a "HOLY COW! Will [losing party] ever recover from this catastrophic curbstomping?" after about half of all American election cycles in my experience. They certainly did last time. Now, there's almost certainly going to be a realignment, but barring a change to the Constitution or a coup we're going to have two roughly evenly divided parties for the foreseeable future, and their fortunes will see-saw. The question is how long the realignment will take and how the factions will rearrange.

People who say this is just banter between dudes are just as bad as Trump. I suppose all the comments Republicans have made about rape are just talk. And that women should "just let it happen because rape is like the weather" and can't get pregnant "because the body has a way of shutting it down" (paraphrasing Republicans).
This is far worse obviously and its from a Presidential candidate. I suppose Trump is continuing Republican tradition in fine fashion of disrespecting and denigrating women who are 53% of voters in this country.
Trump did everybody a service I think. He exposed the misogyny in the Grand Old Piece of ****.For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

Trump was basically the last gasp of a dying party and now that he has imploded, they are all scurrying about looking for cover. For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. By the way, allegedly there is footage from The Apprentice outtakes of him saying "******," but the guy who owns the footage (A Trump ally) has said any release will results in a $5 million hit to whomever does it, due to contracts signed. David Brock just offered to pay the $5 mil on behalf of anyone who produces it...Tutto nel mondo è burla

Also I suspect this one particular incident would not have turbocharged the mutiny if Trump had had a better debate performance. Like I said, we'll tolerate immoral ****birds in power, they'd just better be competent. This just happens to be the most significant stink-bomb his campaign detonated shortly after it became overwhelmingly clear that he wasn't going to turn this thing around. Which, sadly, doesn't rule out the possibility that he'll win anyway. But it does seem remote, unless he's frigging Rocky tonight.

And when Trump says incredibly racist things about Blacks, Republicans aren't too bothered. Trump is just saying what they privately think. But when Trump talks about grabbing White women by the pussies, Republicans are bothered. Almost all of them are related to White women and this time, Trump has gone too far.Tutto nel mondo è burla
