You seriously figure Hillary is out before the convention? My goodness. She's way ahead of Obama by the EC math, which is the only math that counts.

      • The fact that you even suggest the mere possibility is overly optimistic.

The polls - this recent Rasmussen poll, as well as a Survey USA poll from a couple months ago - show it to be a close race. I don't see any particular reason to think that they're wrong. And as I've been saying for a while, Obama's numbers in general will improve after he consolidates the nomination.

Check again, the Dem primary doesn't use the EC. It's a proportional representation system (with the exception of superdelegates, which are now virtually tied). Clinton would lose even if she won 65% of the votes in each upcoming state.
          Unbelievable!

The EC math doesn't count at all. The only math that counts is delegates and super delegates. Clinton already as much as conceded defeat last night. She's just looking for a face saving exit now.

Yes, and your point? Hillary is still ahead of Obama in the popular vote.

Actually, the system is contra-proportionate representation. If you were to count it like the EC does, then Hillary would be way ahead of obama. 3-2 ratio. That's huge. With true proportionate representation the math is almost even.

I honestly don't see why people would support Obama over Hillary from an electoral standpoint. Hillary is much stronger then Obama in the general.

And I don't see how Democrats can claim their system is proportional representation if Florida and Michigan sit.

Maybe some centrists but the far right? I know they said they'd never vote for McCain because he wasn't a raving evangelical but at the end of the day most of them will vote for him over a "godless" Democrat. The few that won't will just stay home.

Yes she is, by 68k currently, and she'll stay ahead by the time the convention rolls around.

Which is why all the Obama supporters want her to quit now.

Obama is a fool, I hear he is wasting money in 'battleground' states. He should be spending everything he has to win Kentucky and get a knockout blow.

                              • As for the EC math, I didn't believe it myself, but it's true.

Clinton has California, New York, Florida, Michigan, Texas, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Arkansas, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Oklahoma.

                                55+34+31+27+21+20+17+15+12+11+11+10+7+6+5+5+4+3. 303 EC votes.

(Without Michigan and Florida) 259 EC votes out of 249 needed to win.

Obama has Illinois, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Alaska, Hawaii and DC.

                                21+15+15+13+11+11+10+10+9+9+9+9+8+7+7+6+6+5+4+4+3+ 3+3+3+3+2+2. 208 EC votes.
