Hillary Reportedly Will Hold No Public Events Tomorrow
    By Greg Sargent - May 6, 2008, 11:54PM
On MSNBC, Tim Russert just reported that Hillary was scheduled to appear on the morning shows tomorrow.

But, says Russert, she canceled all her appearances.

...actually, MSNBC has confirmed that she will hold no public events at all:

That's a pretty big deal. Any appearance might force her to publicly defend staying in the race, obviously.

Maybe a thin glimmering of reality has finally pierced its way through Clinton's thick skull?

    I hope so.

End this thing, nurse wounds, run in four years.

Looks like she will narrowly eek out a victory in Indiana, but hopefully it will be enough to send her to the sidelines.

No shame in quitting now. Don't take it to the convention please.

Hopefully Dean won't be around next time.

I thought Ahrnold was finished when the gasoline truck exploded.

Expect to see Hillary stagger out of the flaming wreckage of North Carolina and make her way towards the Convention of Doom.

Please, God, let it be so. :desire:

Naw, still no glimmers of reality. She just doesn't want to be asked hard questions about her poor showings in Indiana and North Carolina so she'll lay low for a few days and hope something else distracts people from her embarrassment.

This close primary campaign between Hilary and Obama is driving me nuts.

99% reporting in both states. Obama takes NC by +14% which is a huge winning margin in this race while Hillary eeks out a narrow 51-49 win in IN.

It isn't close, there is no way the superdelegates would put Hillary in when Obama is so far ahead. You just do not steal from a black man, especially when your whole party base is black. The democratic party is a veritable black attack, to put it plainly.

NBC's Tim Russert thinks Hillary is done for.

The interesting thing is Hillary has completely run out of cash and has had to loan herself yet more money. Money is the life blood of politics and she's been bled dry.

Has any of the two the blink of a chance against McCain, after they damaged each other (and basically did McCains work) for three months too long?

It'd be hilarious that the Republicans manage to win again, right after the end of the Bush 2 presidency

                        Tell me about it.

Ralph, current polls are Obama 46 vs McCain 44. When ever Hillary finally bows to reality Obama will likely end up with a nice boost in the polls. The real problem now is Hillary's most loyal and radical supporters are saying they'll vote for McCain before they'll vote for Obama which makes no sense what so ever. A lot of them are feminists who just wanted a woman, any woman, to become President but really that's as stupid as voting for someone because of their race.

Yeah, those folks are just plain nuts, especially given that Obama and Hillary are proposing very similar policies. The idea that they would vote against Obama because he "denied" Hillary the nomination, even though he's likely implement policies like hers, is sheer spite. And given that the folks who defect are precisely the ones who have already suffered most under GOP rule, it's beyond spite -- it's self-destructive behavior.

And if you want to see it on display, check out www.hillaryis44.org; the bile just shoots off the screen.

If Hillary had enough sense to step back before the convention, the spite would likely die down before the main election. This kind of thing is usually eased by time. The catch is, time is a requirement.

It makes perfect sense; I'm pretty sure both Imran and I have always been in this category.
