This may result in the first time, that a corpse is elected president (because it's still preferable to Trump)

For all of you Dims panicking, Hillary is up 10 in MI and 10 in PA.

The only route without FL is through WI. There is no route without FL, VA, PA, or MI.

Giving all the tossups to Trump puts him at 291. That includes Nevada and New Hampshire. As I keep telling folks, Hillary nearly has this nailed down.

But they simply slipped in the bathtub! It was from a terrible accident lol.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. If that was the case it would certainly be on surveillance tapes
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I don't think a presidential candidate has ever died before the election

I'm guessing the vp nominee become the presidential nominee and picks a new vp nominee

or maybe the party holds an emergency convention

                  I think the second.

Putin hates Hillary with a passion, so she her security detail needs to stay vigiliant. Putin is a very dangerous man like Erdogan. I wish Russia would just **** off. This isn't their election or business.

                    Guess I was wrong
Not necessarily. Each party has its own protocol for this scenario, but in neither case does the running mate automatically take over the ticket. If John McCain were to die before the election, the rules of the Republican Party authorize the Republican National Committee to fill the vacancy, either by reconvening a national convention or by having RNC state representatives vote. The new nominee must receive a majority vote to officially become the party candidate. If Barack Obama were to die before the election, the Democratic Party's charter and bylaws state that responsibility for filling that vacancy would fall to the Democratic National Committee, but the rules do not specify how exactly the DNC would go about doing that. (Congress could also pass a special statute and push back Election Day, giving the dead candidate's party time to regroup.)
Vice-presidential candidates Sarah Palin and Joe Biden will face off in their first and only debate this Thursday in St. Louis, Mo. Quite a few...

Yeah, that was my major too and I didn't remember that either, but then again that was the 70's and I have forgotten quite a bit from that decade.

I was never to keen on American government and politics. I had to take classes for it in both my undergraduate and graduate degrees, but my focus was on comparative politics and international relations/law.

For me, even though it was listed as poly-sci, it was technically a pre-law curriculum.

That's interesting. I did a few prelaw classes, but not much.

Anyways it just gets worse for Trump... He is now 15% behind Hillary in a Marist poll.

What is worse... 79% of republicans say they will vote for him which is down. 90% of Democrats now say they will vote for Hillary, sharply up and this means she did indeed get many of the newly registered Democrats (many Bernie supporters).

So it is. 48% Hillary-33% Trump nationally. 45%-31% if you include the other two third party candidates. Disastrous for Trump. Hillary has never really had numbers this high in months.

Oh and Trump has collapsed in New Hampshire (Bernie supporters are jumping to support Hillary), Michigan and Pennsylvania. Also a new poll in Florida has Hillary ahead by 6%. What I now want to see is polls from states like Georgia showing a deadheat. This couldn't get any worse for Trump.

This looks like it is starting to stick and is a post convention bounce. The debates would have little impact at this point. Neither candidate is unknown. People know more than enough about both.

A new poll shows Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton received a bump after the Democratic National Convention and is now tied with Republican candidate Donald Trump in Georgia.

                                I was right.

Georgia is now a battleground state.

The GOP must be ****ting itself. The state has quite a few electoral votes too.

Oh and look up who was the last democrat to win Georgia... Someone you know quite well.
