Clinton landslide. Georgia goes blue. Texas gets close (turning blue soon, maybe 2024).
To us, it is the BEAST.

It will be interesting how Pennsylvania votes in the elections ... after all, Trump already has announced that he will call it cheating if Clinton also wins this state

Looks like the libertarian party will be eligible for federal election handouts in the next election

Most likely. They seem to be holding steady at 8-9%. Did Ross Perot get help like that in 1996? I don't recall.

The Greens have shattered mainly because of Trump. They are back down to 2-3% nationally in recent polling.

assuming they accept, that sort of ideological hypocrisy would almost make them a grown up political party

Answering an earlier question - At this point, if Trump or Clinton are forced to withdraw, their VP nominee would become the presidential nominee and a new VP nominee would be chosen.

They would go through the process internally of vetting a new one. The VP nominee might be an option, but isn't automatically given the spot if the Presidential nominee were to withdraw.

What worries me is firstly how much of the vote will be a result of evangelicals and sane Repubs not voting for Trump because he doesn't represent them. Those guys will probably still vote downticket GOP. Secondly and more importantly, if the GOP get genuinely curbstomped in November, then it might finally force them to have the long inevitable civil war and then rebuild properly. Although that could result in a more moderate GOP (finally) it would also mean a much stronger right leaning opponent in future. That's good for democracy, but might not be great if you're a liberal.

It's not clear to me what the result of a fight would be. The tents could change... it could go back to being loose tents like it was 50 years ago.... if the Democrats could combust at a similar time scale, maybe it could become a true multiparty system (centre left, left, greens, libertarian, business right, religious right, far right)....

                        JM
(I Think that currently the vote for those would be (respectively) 30, 12, 10, 12, 8, 10, 18... not sure what coalitions would occur... )
(The moderate Christians would primarily be in the centre left and business right, the conservative Christians would primarily be in the religious right and far right (and about half the libertarian), the secularists/liberal Christians would be primarily in the left and greens (and the other half of the libertarians). What are currently considered minorities would be primarily in the centre left. The far right and libertarian parties would be the parties that would be the most 'white'. The centre left and business right would be the primary 'hawkish' groups. Left, greens and libertarians would be the primary 'dovish' groups.)

                          Trump mnscores another own goal

He attacked Hillary with a tweet, stating that he finds it unbelievable that she doesn't know that C stands for classified.

Donald Trump criticized Hillary Clinton on Sunday for not knowing what the “(C)” label meant when it was used on her State Department emails.

Well, unfortunately Trump has it wrong, as the C stands for "Confidential" ... proving that Trump also doesn't know what the C stands for

                          And not only this ...
some people posting replies to his tweet remember Trumps past shady dealings with the letter C:
In the 70s, when Trump owned an estate agency, coloured people who were looking for a new home got their records marked with a "C". As anonymous tests showed, the C meant, that the estate agent should deny them any offers (as caloured test clinets didn't get any offers, whereas white test clients, appearing at the same agent immedately after the coloured ones (and searching for the same type of appartment) would get multiple offers)

The case went to court and Trump, funny enough (and unsuccessfully) testified that he didn't know what the letter C stands for

Guess the whole affair will cost him another part of his black voters (if there are any remaining, that is )

I definitely wouldn't want to be campaign manager for Trumps election campaign

The crazy train may be back on track. CNN national poll has trump up by two among likely voters.

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton start the race to November 8 on essentially even ground, with Trump edging Clinton by a scant two points among likely voters, and the contest sparking sharp divisions along demographic lines in a new CNN/ORC Poll.

the washington post has done a presidential poll in all 50 states; the first since 1988, apparently. it will be interesting to see what it says.

If they were really interested in predicting the winner they would be sampling VA, PA, FL and OH every week...
