You'd be surprised, there's certainly plenty of Christians here (Seoul is probably around 35% Christian) and the jobs are very easy to come by.

As far as the girls go, you'd probably do OK if you go with the Christian angle hard enough, especially if you're polite, look respectable and aren't fat. You'd definately have an easier time of things than in North America. You'd actually be a good bit smaller than the average Korea, the average height is probably more 5'9" among males in their 20s (with old peopel being a good bit shorter).

Also a year in Asia is a good chance to take a break and get your head sorted out before going onto other things, even if you don't get stuck here like me

Depends on the look. The most favored look would probably be something along the lines of:

tall, thin, fair hair and skin and a high-bridged thin nose

I don't fit all of those by I fit enough that I definately considered considerably more attractive by Koreans than by Americans.

Oh, I have some very good Korean Christian friends. There's a big difference between Christian as in evangelicals and Catholics. It's much harder to find Korean Catholics then it is to find other types of Christians.

Korea would certainly be better then say mainland China, Taiwan, Japan or Thailand, but the Phillippines would be better then anywhere else.

I had that time two years ago. That's why I managed to get everything together.

Hard to believe it's been two years already. What I need now is to find a good job and settle down.

There are a 5 exchange students from south korea at my school this year. One of them plays OGame! Except it's not the english one. It was still very exciting seeing him on it in school since NO ONE I know in real life plays it.
IDK if he's catholic or not.

Oh, more for practical concerns, but if you know anyone in the Texas of the North then I'd certainly consider moving there.

The plan though is to teach in the US since that is what I'd like to do. I need to find work in the meantime though.

What more do you need to qualify to teach history in a secondary school in Texas?

One course and I have to pass a certification exam. I plan on going to a college down there that specialises in training teachers, just for the course I need.
