So why look for work up here? Or is it just for the summer?
That's what I said in the opening post.
I'm looking for work that will help me prepare and allow me to save up.

I was looking more at a tutoring job and I had an interview with an internship with the head librarian here who happens to be a friend of mine.
That would be my first choice but I might need to do some data entry work on the side.

Lot more then that bookbinding job. I took last summer.
The perks here are a stable place of my own to stay at a pretty cheap price.

There's a big difference between Christian as in evangelicals and Catholics. It's much harder to find Korean Catholics then it is to find other types of Christians.
Well Catholics tend to be a bit poorer and leftist (historically they were the only Christians who stood up to the military dictatorship). There's PLENTY of them in Korea (quite a few of my students are Catholic), they're just not the sort that emigrates as much.
but the Phillippines would be better then anywhere else.

Anymore advice guys?
That was the real point of this thread.
Something that requires writing (moreso than other jobs), analysis and critical thinking (that last bit sometimes gives you trouble, but as long as your job doesn't involve dealing with moral issues that will bring your religion into play, you should be fine).
I have a History degree. I work for an insurance company, handling complex long-tail claims (haz waste/pollution). It's not sexy, but it pays reasonably well. Plus, if I wanted to (I don't), I could go to UConn law on the company's dime.
EDIT: bah, you're just looking for a summer job? Some sort of internship, I guess...

I have another few weeks left until I am done my exams. I am looking for some work over the summer that would fit my degree.
I have experience in my field, as well as in data entry and inventory.
What sorts of jobs are open for me as a history grad? I have a few ideas for where to start looking, but I wanted to get some more suggestions.
BK,
Congratulations on getting your degree! Why are you looking for a summer job? Are you going back to school in the fall, or just taking a "break" before starting your "real job?" Once you graduate from college, summer jobs have a funny way of turning into real jobs.
There are several ways that you can go. First, there are a great many office and middle-management-type jobs in which having a degree will help you. Your employer won't care what your degree is in, but the fact that you have one demonstrates that you have a basic set of skills, as well as the intelligence and work ethic to (at least) get your degree.
Second, get ready to go to grad school. Law school is full of history, business and liberal arts majors. I'm sure MBA school is, too. I suspect that getting into a graduate program in the hard sciences or med school would be difficult (but good luck if that's where you're headed).
Third, something that's actually in your field. Local museums are obvious. Most governments also have historical departments of various sorts (in addition to whatever private entities are out there). If your local phone book has a government section, look there. What's more, there's probably more than one such department. There may be a department or commission for historical buildings, another for archiving historical documents . . . Once you find one, call them. Ask them about other governmental bodies that deal in history. Chances are that there's some overlap in subject area and that they all know each other. Someone will say "Call Joe. Tell him I said to call." Then your foot's in the door.
You're only half Asian and you're from the US so it isn't exotic to you. In Asia though I can honestly say my blond friend was the center of attention. Women just loved him.

The sole exception seems to be the Japanese girls who are rich enough and indoctrinated in the belief of their superior culture enough not to want to marry foreigners in many cases.
Seriously, where the **** did you get that idea?
I know you married a Japanese girl and there are exceptions to everything but that really was the feeling I got there. That culturally the odd fling with a foreigner was ok but most of them weren't interested in marrying a foreigner. There are obviously exceptions to every rule.

I think south Korea is over 10% catholic
Seoul is a very cosmopolitan city. There is a huge Catholic cathedral in downtown along with several protestant churches and even a Sunni mosque. There are very few muslims in the country but the South Korean government had the mosque built in the 1950's to thank the Turkish government who sent troops to fight in the Korean War.

Labourers can fetch $20 an hour. Plus if you have a brain.
Some fast food joints are up to $12-$13.
Indeed. Construction isn't a glamorous job but guys with a bit of experience can get US$20 per hour while even new guys get $12-$15. I'm not sure if they have In'N Out Burger in Canada but the owners of that chain are die hard Christians who believe in paying everyone a living wage so everyone there gets paid a minimum of US$13.50.
