Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "
Going on what you say, one way or another, God made a mistake.
I want to tell you, that would make me extremely nervous.
God doesn't make mistakes. Period.
Slowwy:
Did I ever say that God made people gay? No. I think they do that all by themselves.
Mr. Fun:
Much better flame. Now I want to see Bodd's response.

And what evidence do you base this on...

If god is omnipotent and thinks it's a sin, why do gay people still exist?

Why would there be any sin at all? Why doesn't God just cure everybody of sin with a snap of his finger?

Since you feel that you have the right to ***** at those Christians for trivialising your homosexuality and damning you to hell. Living by your "golden rule", do you recognise that, equally, those Christians have every right to defend and stand up for their religious beliefs?
Maybe both of you will feel better about yourself, but it doesn't actually solve any problems, does it?
I think you missed a few words in your golden rule there...
It's not "Do unto others as others do unto you", but "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you".
You'd make a fine Middle East negotiator though.
Then again, you might just be trolling and you really want others to scream at you, because you can then scream back at them even louder.
Did I ever say that God made people gay? No. I think they do that all by themselves.
Simply stated, you're wrong.
People don't "make" themselves Gay.
It isn't a choice.
As I said earlier, and I've really made an effort to understand, it's suppsed to be a gene thing.
Damn, I hate to use old pissant as a reference, but he asked the logical question himself.
Why would anyone choose to be Gay, given the hostile environment ?
(ok, fine. He's right one time. You fire enough rounds and you're bound to hit something.)
So yes, God made them Gay.
I think some alleged Christians and/or other religious types best be watching where they tread with their thoughts, words, and deeds.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

I never said they don't have that right.
They could insist to their dying breath that Michael Jackson is our savior and they'd still be as pigheaded and ignorant as ever.
Fortunately, not all hope is lost, as we obviously have at least some compassionate, intelligent Christians on these boards which I adore. You know, if all (or even most) of the religious folk I met were like monolith, JM, SlowwHand, etc. -- I might actually take it seriously someday.

Yes, because I'm treating certain people how I was treated. Do you understand how the golden rule works?
Yes, but obviously you don't. As Mercator stated the Golden Rule is to treat others as YOU wish to be treated. Unless you want to be yelled at by religious fundies .
So you don't like what some other people believe and thus come on here in a pissy and abusive mood. Nice one Asher, you may have noticed that most people take a dim view of folk who go on the internet to abuse others to make themselves feel better - which is exactly what you are doing.
You should have seen the original thread.
And before you start, Asher, remember MtG said that was closed because of YOU.

Anyway, under Christianity you can easily be against homosexuality without wishing people dead. It is a religion that believes in original sin and thus everyone has some sin. That doesn't mean the sinful are going to Hell. And look at monestaries. They have to refrain from all sexual contact (ideally).

If religious fundies treat me in that way, does that not mean that is the way they wish to be treated?

Surely your incessant spamming of it with nonsense like "rhetorical questions cannot be trolls" had something to do with it.
Or maybe it was my "muslim cowboy" comment.

Sure, but if you treat them that way then you are saying you wish to treated the same. The Golden Rule is a circle. Just don't complain when you are treated the way you wanted to be.

Since the mod who did it made it 100% clear that it was you doing something so offensive that you were close to being banned, contrasting your point that it was my fault, surely that means 'spam' (which is found on almost every thread) had something to do with it
