What is her professional incentive? Does she profit from the sales of the pill she studied over 6 years ago? And go/crowdfund me started up years after she told people about Kavanaugh to pay for her expenses like security and lawyers. It aint like she got a check for a 1/2 mil to put in savings. And no, I wouldn't falsely accuse someone for money and you have no evidence she did either.

"Some people will smear their political enemies for free. But then what do I know? I just post on Poly."

    Smearing people for free

I'll be honest, if someone offered me that much, especially to stick the knife into someone that's gone out of their way to make trouble for me, I'd have to think about it. I think a lot of people would.
Kavanaugh went out of his way to make trouble for Ford? Well, he made her life hell but you think she's mad at him because she studied a pill years ago. I'll be honest - I wouldn't. So maybe you're projecting onto her?

'Before the nomination', is extremely vague. A year ago? Six months ago? When?
What are you talking about? The time frame she told her husband about Kavanaugh?

At the time of the nomination this was not so clear. Look, it's even in the other thread, Giancarlo stating that the Democrats would take the Senate.
Giancarlo speaks for Senate Democrats? Link the analysis showing the Democrats were favored to take the Senate.

Simple. She named people that she thought would be sensible people because she had no other choice. She could have said there were no witnesses, and then nobody would believe her.
Mike Judge was a sensible person? "Nobody"? Plenty of people would have believed her, just watching them testify was enough for me to believe her and all those people she named dont remember the party. They did more harm than good, she would have been better off without naming anyone. Well, no... She named people who showed up on Kavanaugh's calendar so its good she named them.

People asked her for some names and she gave the other boys, and then a friend that she thought would want to stay out of the circus and/or would roll for her. Her testimony looks very different if her girlfriend lies and says, "yeah I was there, Christine is right". The interesting part for me is that there's a history of animosity between the two. Which makes it interesting to me why Christine chose her. For her being a 'lifelong friend', it doesn't appear to be such a strong friendship.
Ford testified she wasn't in the room, how could the GF know she was right? Ford lives out on the west coast, I think Keyser lives in the east. So you think they dont like each other because Keyser didn't lie for her? What is this history of animosity and if it exists why would Ford name her?

Weird. Apparently I'm the libertarian and you're the prohibitionist.
I never called for a ban on booze and libertarianism doesn't require defending an obnoxious drunk who sexually assaulted a 15 year old girl. I wouldn't even call that libertine, no... religious conservatives could support people like Kavanaugh and Roy Moore.

Because I have people close to me who don't and didn't fly ever and they took the bus to get to places. They certainly weren't flying to Tahiti for vacation.
And I know people who fear flying and still fly, so what? Let us know when the bus heads for Tahiti.

Where did Ford advocate smearing Gorsuch with false accusations?

    You're dodging that question

    • What is her professional incentive?
You'd call her a tobacco lobbyist if she did the same for studies on tobacco. Same here. She's very well connected with the abortion industry. Kavanaugh means an end to that gravy train if the pill manufacturer loses it's largest market.

And go/crowdfund me started up years after she told people about Kavanaugh to pay for her expenses like security and lawyers
Years after? BS. It started at the same time she went public to smear Kavanaugh. Also I thought her lawyers were working pro bono? Or was this another lie?

And no, I wouldn't falsely accuse someone for money and you have no evidence she did either.
She has significant incentives to both.

Kavanaugh went out of his way to make trouble for Ford?
There's a lot of money tied up in the abortion industry.

Link the analysis showing the Democrats were favored to take the Senate.
      From Senate Democrats?

Easy. CNN quotes them in September saying this: https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/09/polit...ber/index.html

Ford testified she wasn't in the room, how could the GF know she was right? Ford lives out on the west coast, I think Keyser lives in the east. So you think they dont like each other because Keyser didn't lie for her? What is this history of animosity and if it exists why would Ford name her?
I don't think they liked each other all that much at any point.

all those people she named dont remember the party.
And that doesn't strike you as significant?

I never called for a ban on booze
It's been eyeopening how much you've been attacking Kavanaugh for drinking alcohol.

And I know people who fear flying and still fly, so what?
So why make an overly transparent lie in an attempt to delay the proceedings further?

        • Nolte: NBC’s Kate Snow Says Info Clearing Kavanaugh Wasn’t ‘Newsworthy’ Before Confirmation

Jim Watson/AFP/Getty, Mark Ralston/AFP/Getty, NBC 29 Oct 2018911 7:17NBC’s Kate Snow offers only falsehoods and double talk to explain why she and her employer hid crucial facts that would have cleared then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of gang rape allegations.

On Friday, Breitbart News reported that, although NBC had the information a full week prior to his October 6 confirmation, NBC covered up news that would have cleared Kavanaugh when it mattered most — during those intense final days of the confirmation process.

During that week, here is the information NBC News hid from the public and those senators deciding on whether or not to confirm Kavanaugh:
          1. On September 30, the woman who signed a sworn statement corroborating Julie Swetnick’s gang rape allegations against Kavanaugh (the statement was publicly released by attorney Michael Avenatti on October 2), not only told NBC she had never witnessed Kavanaugh spike punch or rape anyone, she also became something of a character witness for Kavanaugh when she told NBC she had never once seen him behave inappropriately.
          2. This second witness then told NBC on October 3 (three days prior to Kavanaugh’s confirmation) that Avenatti had fabricated her sworn statement.
          3. During this crucial time, Avenatti was playing games with NBC to conceal all of this — what NBC itself describes as “an apparent effort to thwart the reporting process[.]”

Nothing was stopping NBC from reporting the above facts as they came in. There was no valid reason for NBC to withhold this relevant and crucial information, either from the public or from those senators still deciding Kavanaugh’s fate.

What’s more, had NBC released this story as it broke, NBC would have owned a major scoop, a story of national consequence. Instead, NBC chose not to reveal the truth until October 26, more than three weeks after it mattered.

                • the story I heard was she signed a sworn statement drawn up by Avenatti but she didn't read it and then accused him of fabricating the story. If thats true Avenatti is in trouble, but I dont know that NBC is at fault - they had her sworn statement and went with that.

yes, they went with the sworn statement they had already reported and didn't retract it based on her changing it... I guess.

                  • You and Ben aint seeing it, the women accusing him are irrelevant. It was his response that disqualified him. He lied under oath about several matters and confirmed for me at least the stories about him being a drunken dickwad are true. I just wonder how many other women are out there keeping quiet about him for fear of what his supporters will do.

                      This is very true.

This is about a Supreme Court justice, not about whether he should be in jail.

We require more of our hires at the local middle school than the Republicans require of a Supreme Court justice.

What that says is that the Supreme Court justices deserve the respect given to a politician and not the respect given to a professional much less that given to an arbitrator. Which is very damaging for our justice system.

                        • Re: mifepristone, many drugs have widely disparate uses. The other half of the abortion cocktail, misoprostol, was originally developed to keep people on NSAIDs (like ibuprofen or aspirin) from getting stomach ulcers. It's still used for that purpose; most retail pharmacies will sell a pill with combined ibuprofen and misoprostol. The abortion thing is an off-label use. Similarly, viagra can be used for respiratory conditions as well as erectile dysfunction, and methotrexate, which can be used for abortion, is also used for arthritis and cancer treatment. Drugs are weird, because the human body doesn't always work in a straightforward way. It doesn't make sense to write off a multipurpose drug on the basis of one of its applications.

You really think Kavanaugh's behavior under pressure demonstrated the disposition and neutrality required of a Supreme Court justice?
Look, I dislike Clarence Thomas as an unoriginal thinker of limited legal insight, and think the accusations against were much more credible. But at least he showed some dignity and class through the process. Kavanaugh OTOH revealed himself as vindictive and petty, while lying under oath multiple times.
