If you want to punish an adult for having broken the law as a small child, you might well have ulterior motives. But keep using your "I'm just enforcing the law" excuse.

It's not about punishment. It's about enforcing the border.

It is thinking of the children.

The reason why the average DACA recipient is in their 30s is because illegal immigration (from Mexico/etc) has mostly not been a problem for since the early 00s (https://www.statista.com/statistics/...ion-in-the-us/).

Yes, most of them varifiably were though the cut off age was 18 and 18 year olds very much are legal adults in their home country and easily could go back. Hell, a not insignificant number can't even clarify they were here because they never attended school here. That is just ripe for fraud in my mind. I would cut it down to those just age 10 or younger as those really have only had experience here. Teenagers especially older teens? Nope, they should be sent back home.

Also no DACA recipient should EVER be allowed to sponsor anyone to come over here because the first thing they want to do is sponsor their parents who very much are law breaking criminals.

At least from Mexico, the government is very willing to be very strict. I know a couple where the husband (Mexican) has to stay in Mexico and the wife is American... they got tired of waiting for his marriage visa to be approved (after 3? years) and tried to sneak him in. They were caught. He will never be allowed in. EVER.

I probably would have been fine with the line being 16 or even 14. But it was made 18, also not a bad point.

(My wife had her marriage visa approved in less than 8 months. My wife's sister had her fiancé visa approved in less than 20 months. The difference was probably because I and my wife had been married for some time and had a child.)

I can certainly see how some would interpret it that way. Then again it depends on which group of Hispanics we are talking about. Those who are illegal or have illegals in their family will hate it but those Hispanics who are not illegal often are also against illegals. Remember that Cesar Chavez's farm workers movement was the most outspoken advocates of cracking down on illegal aliens because they wanted to raise farm labor wages and knew they could not so that if employers could just fire them and hire illegals instead.

              • I think that you could get a lot of African-Americans and a lot of Hispanics in favor of immigration restrictions.

But the strongest proponents of immigration restriction in the GOP use racist language and racial points to do this immigration restriction (King from Iowa, Miller from the WH, Trump talking about wanting Norway immigrants but not Mexican immigrants, Trump saying the judge was not Mexican (or something) despite the judge being just as American as Trump (The child of an immigrant family)).

                • For some reason, Republicans don't want to focus attention on the fact that hiring illegal immigrants can enable businesses to ignore the minimum wage.

Can you explain how Trump saying that he wants more immigrants from Norway (that are more productive) and less immigrants from Haiti (which is what he actually said) hurts anyone.

This assumption alone (white people being more productive than PoC) already is racist

I bet Trump would love to have Norway's 300,000 Muslims emigrate to the US.

Much less than 1% of Haitians are Muslim.

                    • There is nothing more embarrassing than obsessive liars with a leaky memory.

Trump one month ago: I know Matt Whitaker, he is a great guy.

Trump yesterday: I don't know Matt Whitaker. He is just one of Sessions guys.

                          • In these days, 80 years ago, the Reichskristallnacht (Night of the broken glass) took place.

So, are there any informations about, whether/how the right-extremists among the Trumpists are going to celebrate it?
