Then you're going to have to start answering my question about "why isn't it discrimination for the Catholic church to not have women as priests?"Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

Well OK. He's like a strange animal in the zoo.Originally posted by Giancarlo View PostAnd he is doing it yet again. Lying and justifying more of his bigotry.
The world is moving forward.
I find it funny how he talks about countries which are at the pinacle of quality of life in the world to somehow say "we won't like where this is heading to"

This is a stunning comment from a Greek. There was a very, very long time when the cultural hegemony *was* Greek. And not so long ago, either.I find it funny how he talks about countries which are at the pinacle of quality of life in the world to somehow say "we won't like where this is heading to"Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

The largest, most prominent empire in the world used Greek as their language, spread Greek culture everywhere it went, and was a bastion of culture and education - the Byzantine Empire.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

Once again... BK thinks he's the ultimate authority on who is a Catholic and who isn't. One more time... I have no intention of practicing gay sex. But I also show my neighbors respect and don't discriminate against them. Their religious beliefs are as valid as mine, and I respect that. I'm not calling you a bigot because I want to change the teachings of the church... I'm calling you a bigot because that's what you are.Originally posted by Ben Kenobi View PostTeaching what the catechism teaches on marriage is not hate. Well, I suppose you can label it hate. That doesn't make you wrong - it just means you're no longer Catholic. I'm sure many 'Catholics' believe as you do because they want to change the teachings and labeling their opponents as 'bigots' is one way to accomplish that.
You are right that I will always cheer when people who discriminate are prosecuted for their illegal actions.I'm sure that when the state inevitably comes for us - you'll be right there along with them tearing it all down. You'll be finally cheering at 'destroying the bigots', just like the folks in England, in Scotland, in Denmark, in Sweden, and in Germany so many years ago who did the same thing.
But please quote where I have ever said or supported the idea that the state should come for Catholics... Oh that's right, you can't.
I never have... I have simply supported the right of religious freedom for all and not simply Catholics.
You just make crap up in a lame attempt to justify your own hate and bigotry.Keep on Civin'

If you're not following the catechism, you're not Catholic.BK thinks he's the ultimate authority on who is a Catholic and who isn't
And that's my point. You complain that I'm the 'ultimate authority', and then turn around and say, "this is where the Church is wrong". In essence you are arguing that you have better moral standard than the Catholic church.because I want to change the teachings of the church

And the courts don't agree with you lack of legal expertise. Yet again you keep making crap up. The Courts have ruled multiple times, and your argument is wrong.Originally posted by Ben Kenobi View PostThe Catholic church teaches clearly that willfully depriving a child of a mother or a father is wrong. They had a choice between being Catholic or being an adoption agency, which is a straight up violation of the First Amendment.Keep on Civin'

I would argue that Greek was the strongest even in the middle ages, down to about the 13th century or so. It was only after the 4th Crusade that this changed. Prior to this, Greek was stronger. You could argue maybe after the 11th after Mazikert, but I don't really see it.Oh. It's still Greek. Has been so since the rennaiscance with a small break during the middle ages.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

No, I'm talking about a greek cosmotheory. Basically the whole western world is based on it. The only time it "shifted" was during the middle ages when the church was all too powerful.

Some things can be accommodated. Forcing the Church to place children without a mother or a father, is something that we cannot accommodate. And the courts don't agree with you lack of legal expertise. Preaching to the choir here. Which may surprise some. I like my Latin, but I'm first and foremost a westerner. Well then, if we don't count the slaves and the women, everyone else had equal rights.Originally posted by Ben Kenobi View PostPreaching to the choir here. Which may surprise some. Now this is improved and there are no slaves and women also have rights.
