  • This thread reminds me of that time Ben spent a week insisting that growing up a deaf kid in Canada meant he had it worse than African Americans in the US pre-civil rights. Funny times..

This hasn't been a religion thread for many pages now. Now get thee to a gay bar and start asking forgiveness.

Was not familiar with this euphemism.

            According to this chart:

Since 2004 - workforce participation among those 24-54 has declined from 82.9 to 80.9, contrary to what Giancarlo claimed that it has held steady. It has not.

Since 2004 - workforce participation among those 55-65 has increased from 36.2 to 40.0, contrary to what Giancarlo claimed, and corroborating my statement.

Since 2004 - workforce participation among those 65+ has increased from 14.4 to 18.6 contrary to what Giancarlo claimed, and corroborating my statement.

Since 2004 - workforce participation among those 75+ has increased from 8.8 to 11.3 contrary to what Giancarlo claimed and corroborating my statement.

Men 25-54 have declined from 90.5 to 88.2 percent. Women in the same age grouping have dropped from 75.3 to 73.9.
Well done, you've demonstrated that around half of all boomers who were working in 2004 had retired by 2014.

He just keeps trying to change the subject... It all boils down to the fact that he thinks the messages of love, forgiveness and respect coming from the Pope are wrong.
And he thinks the Pope should be more like the bigot he and the families that he knows are. He claims that the Pope is forcing him and his friends from the Catholic Church because he's preaching tolerance and respect... Ben just want's to continue to be a Bigot, so he claims this Pope isn't for him.

Great bigots who are tired of Francis's message of love, respect and forgiveness.
All men are sinners, and gays are just sinners. Why are you such a bigot against them and not every man since you are all just the same... sinners.

It's too bad you won't even listen to the Pope... a great and caring man.

                      • All men are sinners, and gays are just sinners.
We do not celebrate our sins. That is what we must not do. In celebrating, sheltering, 'tolerating' sin - we condemn ourselves to hell. You call me a bigot for calling sin a sin - you would do everything except that. Who's the real bigot here? What is true compassion, Ming?

I have read what he has said - insofar as you interpret his words to justify homosexuality - you are very wrong about Francis and about what God believes. That being said, Francis drives many out of the Church who are discouraged by his lack of understanding of Catholic doctrine. Every time that the bishops have corrected him reduces him in the eyes of Catholics - it diminishes his authority.

Most look elsewhere - to our beloved Benedict, and to the other bishops like Cardinal Sarah who preach the faith. As for myself, I have been watching and listening. I was not going to make up my mind on Francis until I had a chance to hear him out and listen to what he had to say, and why. Much of what he has done is counterproductive. Practically every press release I find myself having to answer questions from others who are concerned and confused.

My job is hard enough correcting the misinformation that is already there without Francis adding to it. Do I believe that he cares about folks like me? No, I do not. He would sooner be rid of all of us than actually ask us how we are doing.

All men are sinners... yet you only seem to treat gays with hate, discrimination, and distain. Treat all sinners alike... you respect your friends and treat them fairly, but they are sinners as well. When it comes to gays, you are simply a bigot.

I have read what he has said - insofar as you interpret his words to justify homosexuality
Moron... never said that his words justify homosexuality. Please quote where I have said that. Oh right, you can't.
ONE MORE TIME... His is a message of peace, respect, forgiveness, no dicrimination... a Christian message.

Simply your opinion... the opinion of a bigot. Of course you don't like him... he's not a bigot like you. His is a message of peace, while yours is a message of hate.

Most look elsewhere - to our beloved Benedict, and to the other bishops like Cardinal Sarah who preach the faith.
Yep... you and your bigot friends look elsewhere.

Everybody I know supports his message of peace and love.

As for myself, I have been watching and listening. I was not going to make up my mind on Francis until I had a chance to hear him out and listen to what he had to say, and why. Much of what he has done is counterproductive. Totally understandable since he doesn't support your hateful messages.

My job is hard enough correcting the misinformation that is already there without Francis adding to it. Do I believe that he cares about folks like me? No, I do not. He would sooner be rid of all of us than actually ask us how we are doing.
He cares enough to try to save your soul with his messages of peace and forgiveness. The message was specifically for bigots like you. And your lame attempts to put words in his mouth about he doesn't care is simply more BS like you do with every post here when you try to make claims about what people have said, when they never did.

Case in point is your "claim" that I interpret his message to justify homosexuality... which I have never done.
Just more lies/sins on your part. You sin on a regular basis here with your countless lies and deceits.

You should really listen to the Popes words of peace and forgiveness... But instead, you reject peace and forgiveness and look else where to support your hate.

Do you believe that sodomy is a sin, Ming? That is the crux of the issue. It is because folks like you would label those who teach that yes, sodomy is a sin - as bigots, that I reply as I do. There is nobody claiming that lying is something to be proud of - and there is nobody shouting that the true nature of someone is to be a liar.

Yet - here you are condemning a class of folks to hell - because you are stating that they cannot and must not change. Yes, I am a sinner, yes I was a sinner - but my friends, my true friends brought me to Christ - to confess and repent and turn AWAY from my sins.

Great and small as they were and are I must continue to do so.

I challenge others with nothing less. Leave your sin. Turn away from your sins. Confess to God your brokenness and he will heal you. But you can not, and must not celebrate your sins. That is the absolute worst you could do. There is no surer ticket to hell.

Totally understandable since he doesn't support your hateful messages.
Francis has clearly stated that sodomy is a sin and that those who indulge in it must repent.

And your lame attempts to put words in his mouth about he doesn't care is simply more BS like you do with every post here when you try to make claims about what people have said, when they never did.
No, Ming - it is his words that you twist to your own purposes. In the end, we are held responsible - before God as to whether or not we stood behind Him, or whether we abandoned Him. The Catholic church is clear. That sodomy is a sin. That has not and will never change.

that I interpret his message to justify homosexuality
Insofar as you continue to apply the label "bigot", you continue to persist in this falsehood.

Popes words of peace and forgiveness...
                            Repentance must come first.

Yeah... you consider sodomy a sin. But the majority of gays are not Catholic and don't believe it's a sin. It's not against their religion or beliefs.
They are welcome to their beliefs just like you are. You remember, Freedom of Religion... that thing you claim to support... yet in reality, you only mean freedom for Catholics and nobody else.

Yet here you are denouncing one specific class of sinners in your mind while knowing that ALL men are sinners. That's bigotry.

                                Fine speech for Catholics... Bravo...
But don't cram your religion down the throats of people with different beliefs. To them it's not a sin. Remember, the same right you claim to call it a sin for Catholics gives them the right to claim it's not a sin due to their beliefs... Or do your really support religious freedom only for Catholics.

Francis has clearly stated that sodomy is a sin and that those who indulge in it must repent.
Never said that he didn't. But read the rest of his message... the one preaching love, forgiveness, and no discrimination.

Insofar as you continue to apply the label "bigot", you continue to persist in this falsehood.
Nope... simply stating a fact. You are treating gay different than other sinners. That makes you a bigot.

                                Repentance must come first.
Yet again... fine for Catholic gays... But most aren't Catholics and don't believe what you do.
They are allowed to follow their own beliefs and don't feel they need repentance. They will be saved based on their own beliefs, not yours. That's their right... to believe what they feel in their hearts and soul.

The Pope is preaching love, forgiveness, lack of discrimination, understanding... All messages that Jesus would be proud of.
Yet you denounce your own Pope so you can continue with your messages of hate.
