This is a country of laws, you fool. Private agencies performing public work fall under the same laws that outlawed segregation. Open your ****ing eyes!

You say it's a free country but it seems you don't want it to be that way...

The Catholic church does not condone discrimination or spewing hate. The Pope did not say that you need to marry another man... He did want the discrimination and hate to end.
He is a very wise man and a true Christian. You are simply a bigot.

And at the end... facing god, you can attempt to justify your hate and bigotry by claiming the Pope and bishops were wrong...
Neither are telling you it's OK to discriminate or spew hate... that's just the lame justification of a bigot.

        • I don't know why but your "English" component is well down the line
I'm talking historically from before 1900. Historically England was the largest source of colonists to the United States and Canada. We don't see that now, due to the demographic transition in Europe.

            Of course he doesn't.

He thinks LGBT people like me are to blame for all his religions screwups. He thinks I should just blend in with the rest... and not be a genderbending out gay person I am.

Ben is the very definition of bigotry.

Really. Then why aren't Catholic schools required to hire homosexual men and women. This is the crux of the issue - private agencies are not public agencies, regardless of the work that they do.

Ming still hasn't answered my question about "what about soup kitchens"? Isn't providing food to the homeless a 'public job?'

Why isn't the Catholic church required to hire women priests, Gian? Isn't that discrimination too?

              • I already posted facts showing gay people are four times more likely to adopt
Then why do you need to shut down Catholic adoption agencies if, in the end, it's all about the children and not about you?

They are adopting kids and the welfare of kids fall under the state. And Catholic schools could very well be forced to do so by the way. they need to abide by laws.

Your argument... same ****ing thing segregationists used to justify hatred.

Moron. they are discriminating against LGBT people and have to follow the laws. And your church doesn't care about children. Your church has proved that very well. Besides those catholic adopting agencies have been piss poor.

                    • Ben doesn't care about the constitution. He doesn't care about kids. He doesn't care about people.

He only cares about pushing his dogma onto others and justifying his bigotry.

Why don't Catholic Adoption agencies not follow the law like everybody else? While some have been closed for not following the law, others have closed simply because they don't want to follow the law. It's not about the children to them... it's about their own simple discrimination.

If they cared at all about the children, their priority would be helping the children by placing them in any loving home they can instead of practicing discrimination.

                          Well, he can't.

You can't use freedom to justify discrimination.

Teaching what the catechism teaches on marriage is not hate. Well, I suppose you can label it hate. That doesn't make you wrong - it just means you're no longer Catholic. I'm sure many 'Catholics' believe as you do because they want to change the teachings and labeling their opponents as 'bigots' is one way to accomplish that.

I'm sure that when the state inevitably comes for us - you'll be right there along with them tearing it all down. You'll be finally cheering at 'destroying the bigots', just like the folks in England, in Scotland, in Denmark, in Sweden, and in Germany so many years ago who did the same thing.

We still bear the scars from that now - even if we don't talk about it anymore because it's not the history we want to teach.

You'll get what you want, but I don't think you'll like what you get.

The Catholic church teaches clearly that willfully depriving a child of a mother or a father is wrong. They had a choice between being Catholic or being an adoption agency, which is a straight up violation of the First Amendment.
