If bags being reused were such a health hazard, what happened to previous generations ? They were all decimated or obliterated by epidemics of salmonella and e coli and clostridium and botulism.

Most went to the butcher and got their meat fresh, and the butcher would wrap it up for you. Or - they would get it direct from the rancher. Either way - it's not getting contaminated with e-coli if it's fresh and the butchers do their job properly.

There's more risk of getting salmonella from careless food storage and cross contamination in the home than there is from reusing clean plastic or non-plastic bags.

Which is precisely why I don't think it's wise to bring bags from home to the supermarket.

Why? I don't eat meat wrapped in plastic. To get the full enjoyment of the meat you take it out of the plastic and then eat it.

If you really want to avoid salmonella, I think you might want to add a step or two between removing meat from the plastic and eating said meat. But what you and your prewarmed Texas car trunk meat do in the privacy of your own home is no business of mine.

Interesting that you listen to the CDC about salmonella, (something like 20 people died from all food borne illness in 2009-2010 while ~1000X more people died from AIDS) yet the CDC's recommendations toward condom use make Jesus sad or some **** like that, right?

Actually if it's AIDS you're trying to avoid you're best off not ****ing other men in the ass. Just doing that one thing will reduce your incidence to a tiny fraction of the overall risk pools. If you want to reduce it further, don't **** someone without first getting tested.
