YOU DON'T BRING YOUR UNSANITARY CRATES INTO THE SHOP?! YOU BIO-TERRORIST!
No, I mostly just steal them from the store. Nobody cares. The only behaviour modification is that I've switched from plastic to paper.

I've worked in a supermarket, if you are worried about the bottom of a reusable bag, never buy any food from a supermarket, ever.
My mother's a nurse and she tried the reusable bag thing for about a month. Then when she saw the bottom of one and worried about all of us getting sick from contamination - hasn't used one since. Buys her plastic bags from elsewhere and bags herself in the store.

They are not wasteful. Anyone who's used one kept them around because they were too handy to be used just once. Need a liner for anything? Use a trash bag. I remember the lazy susan we have that was full of plastic bags. They are the definition of the trope, "to useful to throw away." But then, what do I know? I was a country hick who remembers a time before curbside pickup and recycling amounted to keeping the cardboard as firestarter in the winter, and washing out and using all the tubs, bins and containers for other things. Or canning even.

We never threw much away - it was just too useful for other things.

Uh, it amounts to a small modification of my trunk so that I can drop my groceries in, and they remain secured. It uses the marvelous technology of tape and carboard boxes. Just a little lifehack.

And is anybody else wondering when Sister Bendy is revealed as the latest sexually disturbed serial killer in the U.S.A. ?
Yeah, because I have it so I can load my car up faster is a sure sign of a serial killer instead of a former inventory clerk.

Yep. We used em to catch drippings off meat as well - those ones didn't get reused, because salmonella is a thing. That was their 'single use'. It was one of those small things that made life much easier, and it's why people are still going to use them regardless of whatever dumbass law that gets passed.

They're only banning fast food chains near schools, parks, child care centers, and libraries. So what? Is it really such a big convenience for your fat ass if you have to drive a little further to get to McDonald's? Or Whataburger. A mediocre burger chain that Ben only likes because it originated in Texas.

                    I quite agree.

No idea what you're talking about.
No plastic bag fee/ban here...fast food is everywhere...no light bulb rules.

You seem to think "Canada" is your butt****nowhere hippy town in BC. Not true.
OTTAWA -- The feds are softening the rules for the coming ban on traditional light bulbs, but you'll still be hit in the pocketbook.

Yeah, and Asher never lies either.

                      Also this:

Eventually this dumbass law will pass - people will go back to plastic bags.

Fritz Haarmann did something similar in post-WWI Germany. Recycled human beings as meat and sold their clothes and belongings too.

Just you wait ’til it’s your time,
                        Haarmann will come after you,
With his chopper, oh so fine,
He’ll make mincemeat out of you.
Is one of your favourite films 'M' by any chance ?

Or maybe '10 Rillington Place' ?

It works well for standard grocery sizes and cans. I dunno what's the big deal about that. It saves time and effort. It's just like having a cupboard in your car with sized out slots if a hobo with zero craftsmanship put it together.

I used to carry around a small scale so that I could count faster when I was an asst manager. When I was with another inventory company, they sadly wouldn't let me do it.

Seriously. Salmonella. It's a thing. My favourite tv show is probably House.

I just bought a couple tri-state incandescents last week.
