  • Christian was alive then.

Actually, I don't remember seeing his ghost off the island.

          • Ok, but he didn't die on the island. So unless the island is claiming everyone's souls, I have a hard time buying that part of Doc Jensen's theory.

I was going to say this.

Christian isn't Smokey (at least not all the time) unless the producers of the show were really sloppy.

              • Er, what about Alex being shown to Ben by Smokey in the temple, and Alex told Ben to do exactly what Smokey said?

                Was that Jacob?

                  • Yeah, there's no way you can see Alex being separate from Smoke, but Christian is more likely connected to Jacob. I'm watching Carnivale over again, and it's getting me thinking. Anybody else think that Jacob and MiB might be another iteration of an ancient cycle? Could the ending be Jack or whoever as the new Jacob, building his own list of candidates and watching them go at it?

There does seem to be a third party in the whole Jacob-Smokey conflict. There was also that child that Fake Locke was arguing with in the earlier this season.

                        • Was Smokey able to change his form at that point? I thought he couldn't change it after he returned to the island as Locke, but perhaps it was meant that he can't change his form after Jacob was killed.
