  • Good episode, 4th best of season for me.

I think it was a bit of the Alternative world spilling over into the Island world; it appeared that Alternative Sun legitimately could not speak English.
I thought this was explained by Jack as being some temporary medical condition because of Sun hitting her head.

The whole Widmore vs Ben storyline doesn't make sense to me. Seems to be one giant mis-communication. I need to go back on watch those episodes. Keamy was awesome as always.

Well, yeah. But we're suggesting that there is something more to it than that. Especially since traumatic aphasia is a very, very rare condition.

      • I can't get my head around the two timelines bleeding into each other. Seems too far out there even for Lost.

I think that'll be cleared up in time; really, I don't think it is anything more than naked power grabs from both of them.

Ben killed Jacob; Widmore will complete the mirror image by killing the Man In Black. He will then use Des to kill Ben.

In the end, I think probably all the 815ers will end up dead except for Jack, Kate, and maybe James.

That is your bridge too far?

Yep, I'm drawing an imaginary line in the sand. Bleeding really makes no sense. I'm still holding to my theory that the time-lines represent a choice someone will have to make in the future episodes, no bleeding of the time-lines.

              • After reading the AV Club and EW.com recaps of tonight's episode, I think I've figured out why I liked this episode more than last week's, while 80% of the population thinks the opposite. I really don't care much about "answers" anymore, especially when they're just confirmation of things we already suspected as in "Ab Aeterno". Everyone seems to be geeking out about all the mythological revelations in last week's episode, but I don't really care about that and would much rather spend some time with all the characters I've come to know and love over the past five seasons, as happened in tonight's episode.

                • Ab Aeteron would have been awesome if it had given us answers. Instead, like you said, it really just confirmed stuff most people already guessed. I'm still wanting the answers to the big questions. But I'm fine with character episodes too, as long as we get some answers to the big questions. This episode felt like a season 1 episode, which is a good thing.

                  • I wonder about the significance, if any, of Zoe being a geophysicist.

                    • Also, something I forgot:

We saw Room 23 again, "We are the causes of our own suffering." I'm sticking with my completely bonkers Smokey-is-Aaron theory.

EDIT: Also, if Smokey escapse, "everyone we know cease to be." To me, that sounds like some sort of time paradox. If Smokey escapses, everyone resets, and we get the Alternative world.

FYI: During the Jin-Keamy scene, Jin got his own mirror moment, his image reflected in the steel of a freezer — but Jin didn't notice. Significant? Debate.

How do you read those things, couldn't get through one page of the recap.

BTW do anybody else watch the V episode, it had to be one of the most cheesiest things I have seen on broadcast tv.
