  • While I agree it has, on the whole, been lesser than S5, it is right in the late S3/S4 wheelhouse.

    • Disagree on this season being equal to late Season 3; the plot leading up to "Through the Looking Glass" was far more engrossing than anything happening in the narrative this season. You might be able to convince me on this season being the equal of Season 4, though.

I have a set-in-stone top 3 (The Constant, Walkabout, Through The Looking Glass), and an ever-rotating 4 thru 10 or so (including Tricia Tanaka Is Dead, Flashes Before Your Eyes, Greatest Hits, LaFleur, The Substitute, The 23rd Psalm, The Shape Of Things To Come, The Man Behind The Curtain, and The Brig, just to name a few), and I think this episode slots neatly into that second group.
Through the Looking Glass > The Constant

What is the connection between electro-mag and killing Smokey and Desmond. Desmond always brings the sci-fi back to the show.

Even late season three had the occasional (relative) misstep: Par Avion, for example.

Season four was uneven, but the heights were mother****ing high.

          • The 'choice' theory is clearly gaining credence - though not sure how they will reconcile that the point the timelines diverge is when the bomb goes off in the past, whereas Smokey versus Widmore is playing out in the present.

Interesting that we now have a character (Eloise) who understands that there are two realities playing out - hope that gets explored further.

On the ordering of seasons, I think this season is better than 4, probably a touch below 5. It's harder to compare with the earlier seasons as they were much slower and good (at least very early on), but in a different way.

That is an awfully big assumption that doesn't appear to have much to support it.

Of course, there is no other clear divergence point, either.

The fact that it's used so sparingly makes it extra awesome.

Where does Jesus do that in the Bible? Or is this in one of the rejected gospels? Are you Robert Langdon?
