Yep, on-island stuff was great. But once again another answer=another letdown.

I liked the off-island stuff only because there seemed to be less of it this week.
It was good to see that Sayid hasn't totally turned.
And the on-island plot moved farther forward with the return of a lot of the old rivalries.
Not a great episode but I found it satisfying.
And I even enjoyed the sappy reunion at the end. (probably only because it took so long to happen)It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

The answer was fine. It didn't mesh with everything we know so far, but that can all be handwaved. I don't know why people expect so much from the answers. The show was a patch job from the get go. It's not like The Usual Suspects where the reveal has been the focus of the entire story up to that point. You're not going to have Smokey sit down and say he's Christian and then show a bunch of flash backs with coffee mugs breaking and the whole reveal turning into John Williamson somehow being the ultimate criminal badass. All you're going to get is the canon answer to some long standing question, during a casual conversation between a normal person and a supernatural entity. If you're really lucking they might show you the answer somehow, but I'd rather they not twist the story over the last few episodes just to cram in some "show don't tell" resolutions to minor plot points.John Brown did nothing wrong.Comment

His arrest is a foreshadowing that he didn't kill Desmond, and I think that is going to be key.It was good to see that Sayid hasn't totally turned.

Sadly, I'm beginning to feel the same way. There have been some awesome moments on the Island this season, but on the whole this season feels like it's treading water until the finale. The Sideways stories, in particular, are seeming more and more like a time-wasting device intended to get the final season to the contractually required number of episodes.KH FOR OWNER!
