My mind is still reeling. Three characters who have been around since episode one, dead dead dead. Another character who was 97% pure awesome, and 3% top-quality 80s cheese, dead. Just like that. Baiting us and baiting us with Frank and the plane, and then: surprise, *****es! Can't believe you fell for that ****!
And yet Noel Murray gave the episode an A- and is *****ing about the show spinning its wheels. I'm not going to read the comment thread over there because I'm terrified of spoilers, but I hope they're raking him over the coals.
On a related note, Nashville is in no way one of the "great American cities".
He effectively sacrificed himself to save the others, but the island shouldn't have let him do it because it was still technically suicide.
The Island was done with him. Would the bomb have gone off if Sayid hadn't run off with it, though? If the candidates can't kill themselves, then maybe Sawyer didn't cause the explosion by trying to disarm the bomb, but Sayid caused it by taking the bomb far enough away from the candidates for it to explode without killing them directly.
I'm actually desperating holding on to the 0.2% of me who thinks they are gonna pull a Jin-on-the-freighter with Lapidus.
That would be utterly ridiculous, but also awesome and welcome. I want him to just appear out of the jungle in the season finale, deliver the coup de grâce to Smokey and then utter a cheesy 80's one-liner...
