If you catholics can't handle being around gay people without engaging in homosexual acts then maybe you need to start doing things differently. Having said that, you shouldn't follow evil doers. But if it's your church and they are guests, who is following who?

Not necessarily. If they are good servants then yes, but bad servants will not only deprive God the benefit of their labour, but deprive him of the labour of others.

Because they were responsible for the funding to the Church for these services being cut, and they are passing the buck.

I don't have to make peace with the church. I will oppose the church trying to interfere in the lives and well-beings of others out of principle. Anyone with a brain can see the influence of the Catholic church has been on the wane for centuries and continues to decline. Yes, it will likely be around after we're all dead, but it will also continue to slide into irrelevance.
