A wealthy man trusts in himself and in money, not in God. Look at the parable of the talents. The one who buries his money and does nothing with it is the one who is cursed. I can't see how that can be interpreted as contrary to capitalism. Use your money to earn more money.

I do like that some religious people think that capitalism is concurrent with their beliefs... that just shows how capitalism has tore it apart (as capitalism likes to do). Capitalism is a radical philosophy. It wants to strip away traditions in favor of the market and giving everything a price.

This is why old school conservatives were always wary of too much free market. Because of the creative destructiveness of capitalism.

No, because he had no need for money. He believed that the job of the Church was to spread the Gospel to man, not sell stuff. The disciples he instructed to own things in common as they were Christ's servants.

Christ wasn't an ascetic. He stayed in rich people's homes. He feasted with the rich people. How on earth can you say that he hated them?

Capitalism likes social stability. I can't see how you say otherwise. It really isn't a radical philosophy, it doesn't claim to be an organising principle of life. Christianity on the other hand is all of these things. Christianity claims to be transcendent beyond the material world, while Capitalism is a materialist principle, that concerns only how the market works, and how best to organise things necessary for profit and well-being of society. How can capitalism put a price on faith? It can't and it doesn't try to do so.
