Her objections are complicated and I do not entirely understand them, but she'll talk with an endocrinologist reasonably soon. S/he might talk her into it, or at least into progesterone therapy for her wacky cycles so condoms won't be necessary all the time. She's also thinking about various implanted contraceptive options, though I hear those aren't as effective.
Apparently she has something called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). It means that, while she could conceive a child easily, she would probably have difficulties carrying it to term. She's been treating it with diet, and her reluctance to use the pill has something to do with fears that it would mask the symptoms of PCOS without actually treating it, so she'd be unable to evaluate her progress and something something. I know nothing about the merits of this belief, and honestly I'm not interested in discussing it. Leave that to the endocrinologist, whom she can meet in person. I've passed on what you said, Guy.
So, the general consensus is that:
A. All condoms are terrible, and

IIRC, PCOS is something that isn't really all that treatable (ie, it is something you manage rather than cure).
