I don't think you forged it. But I don't think it's genuine either. The federal government doesn't issue birth certificates.

      • They do issue a standard form that states are presumably supposed to tailor to their needs, but it doesn't match the one that Ben posted.

          • DM, Felch, if I posted the source, you'd say otherwise.

Interesting. I'll recall that in the future. Thanks for helping me reach a conclusion about a source most people do not consider reliable at face value.

To my knowledge none at all. Its just different states use different terms.

Why on earth would I make a non-sequitor to Shane Walter? My post doesn't make any sense now since he DanSed me.

That document is dated 2003 and all government documents get periodically revised so I seriously doubt, even if there was such a federal document back in 1961, that it would look the same as this.

                    • Jesus freakin' Christ, Kenobi. It's the US. Is anybody (besides you, who on other occasions speask glowingly of States Rights) surprised that there's no one standard form, but that the 50 states have fifty different forms of documentation?

Guy can speak from experience. So can I; my work overseas, especially in Singapore, often involved documenting claims of American citizenship. I can tell you for a fact that there is no one form of a US birth certificate, nor is there any standard set of data that such forms include, aside from the obvious (DOB, POB, parents names). Moreover, such forms have changed over time; my own birth certificate from the state of Illinois, issued the year after Obama's, looks more like Obama's than anything you've posted here.

Please, Ben, if you have any regard for my country at all, please stop insulting it by pretending you know anything about it.

                            • Well, that looks genuine. But in my experience with birth certificates (which is limited) they tend to look a lot more like Obama's than that army brat's.

Loinburger just found a federal standard form, which is what I was looking for. Yes, I'm aware each state has different documentation, but they don't vary too much.

                                Guy can speak from experience.
Well, I'm curious as to what the forms look like in Michigan, I've seen some examples of it.

                                Long or short form?

I'm not an American. I am however relying on evidence procured by other Americans. If you have a beef with them, fine, but insulting me does nothing for the argument.
