That's not entirely nutty, actually... I'd say it's "moderate", and quite reasonable as opposed to the anti-gay rights group...

Sorry, I wasn't citing that for nuttiness. I was thinking more of her support for arctic wildlife refuge drilling.

Who are we talking about here??

In any event, running a business related to public policy is not particularly relevant to the difference between running a business and public policy. It's certainly better than running a business related to ketchup, but still, it is running a business, not making difficult public policy decisions, and operating within the bureaucracy.

Mind you, I'm not one who is calling Obama (or anyone) out on experience. I do, however, see a difference between gubernatorial or even mayorial experience, and his experience, and object to anyone saying Obama's experience is superior to Palin's.

That's not particularly nutty either, at the moment, is it? I thought most of the Republicans support that, and are trying to make it this year's hot button electoral topic...

Most Republicans support teaching creationism as science too (as she does, albeit in a muted way), but that's still nuts. And if I were pro-arctic-drilling I'd be trying to draw attention AWAY from it. "My fellow Americans, Alaska has far too many cute and furry baby seals. They all need to die covered in oil and oil byproducts."

Most republicans do not support teaching creationism... just the nutty ones. ANWAR drilling is the current hot-button political issue for the Republicans, though, so it certainly can't be considered nutty (regardless of your opinion on the matter).

That doesn't follow. If a billion people think the moon is made of cheese, those billion people are nuts. They're just nuts with a lot of company.

Drilling in the ANWAR is simply a matter of preference, not a factual matter (the question of whether we drill or not). Thus, unless you define 'nuts' as 'things you disagree with', it's not nuts if a large number of people support it

I'd guess that teaching creationism is actually a lot more popular than drilling in ANWR. They're not called wedge issues for nothing...

If he picks a woman it would be Palin, not KBH.
                        I called it.

Outside of a few nuts in Kansas and Alabama, nobody supports teaching creationism as science. (Teaching creationism as existing, many support ... heck, I support that. Just not as science, but as a religious belief that some people hold.)

Feel free to find me some polls from a reliable source that disprove this, of course...

But a Christian Conservative anti-abortion anti-gay marriage pro-guns maverick. Shouldn't that make you happy?
                            It makes me happy.

I would have preferred one of the guys, but this is the perfect pick for all the Hillary folks.

Or would the feminists be willing to hang themselves and call her the 'wrong kind of woman?'

Basically everyone with education oppose creationism, so it never gets anywhere in any reasonably cosmopolitan area. But it's pretty popular:

Hmm, that's a lot higher percentage than I thought, but still:
Lower gas prices tend to improve consumer sentiment, but the actual impact on the overall economy probably is small.

A majority support ANWR drilling, while only 40% ish support creationism instead of evolution...
