Lots of games spring to mind but I'll plump for Quake 4. Probably not in reality the worst, just the most disappointing, which makes it feel worse.

I actually remember walking to the supermarket (to buy snacks, of course), with an older student. We were chatting about Firaxis Games, mostly SMAC (which we played a bit over the LAN). And I was also raving about the upcoming title Civ3, saying how it was simply guaranteed to be awesome, because SMAC was such a great game, so how could CIV3 not be awesome...

I don't know why; but Civ 3 got me hooked intensively for a very long time... maybe because I discovered this community when Civ 3 was released. So I was able to learn a lot here about Civ3. Which helped me to get hooked.blehComment
