They should have a great team when the spend $50 million more a year than the next closest team (and $88 million more than the Phillies). Burn in hell, Yankees.

Hey, they're playing within the rules. It's not the Yanks' fault that MLB economics favors them.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

First off: Yay!
Second: Yay, I can sleep again.
Third: The irony of supposedly red-blooded American capitalists demanding socialism in baseball aside, I wouldn't mind if changes were made to level the financial playing field a bit more (I'm consistently Liberal, see). The current checks on the Yankees and other rich teams are pretty weak. And honestly? I'd LOVE to see the Yanks go on a run with a "normal" payroll so I could laugh my ass off at the haters.
The devil is in the details. There are problems with the current system that are not the fault of the Yankees. Baseball is a cartel. That's problem #1. That problem is not going to be fixed. It kinda all breaks down right there.

Ummm...not really. To paraphrase Rush Limbaugh, NBA games often resemble Bluds vs. Crips gang wars, and if you think there is parity in the NFL, you are smoking more crack than NBA players.Follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/DaveDaDouche

Hell yes. Honestly, if the Cowboys won based on the fact that they could outspend everyone else, a lot of the pride would be missing for me. Probably hard for a yankee to understand, but it kind of involves honor and ethics.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

The NFL is parity:fail this year.
But in general, it's the one league where a well-run team can go from loser to playoffs in a single off-season. And most years, at least one or two teams manage it. Even this year, with an unusually high number of teams (roughly a half-dozen) that look pretty hopeless, Cincinnati is poised for a huge turnaround.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011
