I agree that there is a consittituional right to bear arms, and that in the given states (but not every state) carrying arms at protests is legal. But should it be? States (not the federal government) can place restrictions, such as on armed protestors (and counter-protestors and demonstrators) and I think this year we have seen that they should.

California placed limits during the time of Reagan.

At this point I think it should be legal. If you’d asked me three years ago I would have said no but with the defund and abolish the police movements, with left wing extremists and other criminals usually armed no matter what the law says, well, it appears self defense is going to be the only defense.

Just look at the Antifa murderer in Portland the other day. He had been arrested twice before as a felon illegally in possession of a concealed firearm yet he was let go each time by far left Democrat DAs so he did it a third time and that time he literally murdered a man for just walking down the street. The criminals are always going to carry, Democrats are making sure regular people can no longer rely upon the police, and violent felons are being released onto the streets in mass.

Patriot Prayer provokes their opponents, in some ways like left-wing extremists. Antifa murdered one of them and now the left is trying to blame Trump and them like they always do. But the left has been rioting for over 3 months so I don't think people are going to fall for it. Once people get red pulled they don't go back.

Democrats really take the cake.

After months of downplaying the riots, pretending they didn’t exist, calling them “peaceful protests,” even calling President Donald Trump a fascist for offering federal agents or National Guard to help out, Democrats have finally discovered the riots. Because someone finally showed them the polls of how it’s hurting them with Americans.

So now they’re off to the races spinning, trying to blame Trump whose the only one who’s been doing anything about it. The Democrats even blamed the Russians, of all things. Of course, Democrats trying to pitch like they really care now is falling flat.

Joe Biden finally came out with a limp statement condemning violence on Wednesday.

But that’s far different from how they dealt with it over the past few months.

As we reported, they embraced the BLM at their convention, didn’t mention the violence once, even Barack Obama called them peaceful protesters.

But there were another couple of things to which I wanted to point.

As this is a thread about the election I will post this. Trump was only at 12% with black voters but he recently went up 15% (base points) among black voters. Democrats ****ed up big time when they started pushing to defund and/or abolish the police. It turns out 82% of black Americans want either “about the same” or “more police”. Often in the poorest neighborhoods people are held hostage to crime and gangs so it makes perfect sense that the vast majority of black people do not support the radical left wing moves by Democrats to defund and/or abolish the police.

Traditionally Democrats get 90% of the black vote but that seems to be getting deeply eroded as people understand more jobs being available is very good for black Americans, they also saw their incomes rise before the Covid outbreak. They also tend to be big supporters of the police because they see what happens without police or with fewer police.

Oh, and black voters seem to really not like Kamala Harris. They see she is only 1/4th black but keeps lying that she some how is black plus they see her record and I doubt we will see much black turn out for her. Probably around 2016 levels and not 2012 levels.

Kamala Harris was a horrible pick because she did not deliver a single new state, she failed to sore up black support, and in fact she actually alienated black support.

I am sure the points in favor of Kamala were that she had good connections to the Bay Area (lots of well off, semi-liberal donors), that she was a former prosecutor so should be strong on Law and Order (while not having the problems that Amy Klobucher had re: Floyd's murderer), and that she was a vetted senator from a safe state. And that she was an African-American and Indian-American woman, but this was probably less important than the other things.

Picking Kamala will end up as a complete disaster. The woman is a train wreck if in every way, in every shape, and in every form. She will not deliver either the black vote nor any state. In fact most people view her as a worthless affirmative action hire and will not support her for any reason. While the majority of black people correctly view her as a lying opportunist. Joe Biden could have done better with a piece of dog ****. At least dog **** wouldn’t have alienated key voters.
