Your point is that because a majority of people think the country is headed in the wrong direction that it equates to more people wanting to change D president to R president.

It doesn't necessarily follow, and the actual presidential polls suggests more want to keep D than change to R. (close though)

well i think i can, but allow me to explain more clearly. clinton is the status quo candidate. trump is the change candidate, but, as i've said in many previous posts, he represents change that many people don't want. however, those who can't abide trump but still want change, as opposed to the status quo that clinton represents, have diverse other options, such as voting for a third party candidate or even refusing to vote for one who is close to their beliefs but offers no change.

What many people who say they want change realize, is with Trump comes the whole package. The whole package being the Republican party. And the Republican party has seen its party registration drop off severely in a number of key states. This is why Hillary maintains an edge. Her ground team just needs to get democrats out and voting.
