For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

Some Trump supporters are suggesting they will show up to polling locations in urban areas. I suggest deploying federal marshals. Usually these people will come with guns and this is a serious threat on the integrity of this nation.
Perhaps the law on the books known as the sedition act should be applied. Infringing on a polling location and threatening voters probably carries a more severe sentence than the ten year sentence under the sedition act. But it would be another charge that should be applied.
I would also suggest states have their state police and national guard units ready. You think I'm joking? Trump supporters are showing attributes of violence and have suggested they would start riots if (rather when) they lose.
Deplorably disgusting indeed and now a threat on the very institutions of this nation. I know this country is far from perfect, perhaps heavily flawed, but such actions are tantamount to treason.
Democracy and the right to vote without intimidation must be preserved at all costs. If it results in the arrests of some criminals so be it. This is the last gasp of violent intimidation towards minorities. They know they are in trouble... They know they are even losing grip of their last big state known as Texas. This is the violent reaction I feared and it should be stopped at all costs.
And where are other GOP leaders in this? Like Paul Ryan? Or Marco Rubio? Spineless. Maybe for once these turds can do something right. Grow a back bone, drop their support of Trump and condemn him and his supporters. That will never happen I know. Well that reporter was right.. You can't polish a turd.Last edited by Giancarlo; October 22, 2016, 03:53.For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. meanwhile, there's been some actual violence taking place:

Diversion noted. See how the media handles what? A non-starter?
You know what's inappropriate? Trump groping women, but I don't see you saying anything about that, big shot.

Yay! Sedition act! You fly that helicopter, boy! Fly it high!
In all fairness, I'd be astonished if there wasn't voter intimidation. Expecting the police to stop it, at least in Trumpist-heavy neighborhoods, is stupid. The police in those neighborhoods are going to be the ones doing the intimidation. But trying to revive a repressive WWI law to protect Hillary's interests would be even dumber, as it would promptly flip all the lukewarm voters over to Trump by confirming all their fears about Hillary.

Here is a new unofficial prediction of myself:
The activity of the OT sub will decrease by a large degree during the next weeks,
as a large percentage of the posters will be busy playing Civ VI and posting in the civ VI subforumTamsin (Lost Girl): "I am the Harbinger of Death. I arrive on winds of blessed air. Air that you no longer deserve."
Tamsin (Lost Girl): "He has fallen in battle and I must take him to the Einherjar in Valhalla"

Just like the "attack" in North Carolina... Seems a bit suspicious with the timing. I think it probably was Trump supporters doing this.
Could you be anymore full of yourself? So delusional.

And I was being sarcastic about the sedition act. I think these thugs with guns going to ballot locations will enrage any undecided voters left into supporting Hillary in reality.

There is no proof Hillary supporters smashed up any office. None.
