No, I think it means a real, competent fascist is next. We got lucky with Trump being a pitiful lout. It beggars belief to say that we don't have a sufficiently immoral, ambitious and clever demagogue in this country of hundreds of millions. And Trump has discredited most of the old GOP leadership, so there's plenty of room at the top.

I will say that Trump has previously shown a knack for provoking violence, then playing innocent. He is also a fan of the truly shameless lying, which really is rare even in modern American politics. It's fortunate that he can't dissemble for ****, only brazen it out. The really barefaced falsehood doesn't work until you already control most or all of the press. Not to mention the guns.Comment
