I wouldn't base marriage licenses on bigoted stereotypes. They are conferred on the basis of mutual consent. You've provided ZERO EVIDENCE that "muslims believe consent is optional" yet you keep repeating that **** even though it's totally irrelevant if a muslim man and a muslim woman are in a consensual relationship and getting a marriage license.

You're the one arguing that she didn't which has me amused. You're presumably the atheist here. Do you believe in the Virgin Birth?
No, I'm explaining how your beliefs are internally inconsistent. I don't believe in virgin women giving birth to male offspring asexually.

Ah. So rather than deny marriage licenses to women who've been forced into marriage that they do not want, you bury your head in the sand. Yes, in Islam consent is optional.

Boko Haram spring to mind? I suppose you'd be arguing in America, 9 would be old enough.

It is true, that's my point, Gribbler. Forced 'marriage' is part and parcel of Islam.

It's only relevant if you believe that it actually occurred. That's the amusing part. If the Virgin birth didn't happen then she did in fact have sex. I suggest you concede this point, Gribbler.

Boko Haram is not representative of muslims in general. What the **** is wrong with you?

I don't believe in virgin births. What I believe has nothing to do with whether YOUR beliefs are internally consistent. They are not. You believe Mary had a marriage and never had sex, and you believe that all marriages involve sex.

"No TRUE muslim does forced marriage."

Och, I'd better get my Whisky out!

I don't believe in virgin births.
Then why are you citing Mary as an example of a woman who conceived that way?

Seriously? Every large group of people has members doing things that are wrong. I didn't say Boko Haram aren't Muslims. I said they're not representative. Catholic priests who rape kids are not representative of all Catholics, jokes aside.

In the context of your belief system, she had a marriage without having sex.

                    • DUBLIN (AP) — Ireland's citizens have voted in a landslide to legalize gay marriage, electoral officials announced Saturday — a stunningly lopsided result that illustrates what Catholic leaders and rights activists alike called a "social revolution."

Friday's referendum saw 62.1 percent of Irish voters say "yes" to changing the nation's constitution to define marriage as a union between two people regardless of their sex.

                      Per wiki:
Religions in the Republic of Ireland, 2011
                      Roman Catholicism (84.2%)
                      Church of Ireland (Anglican) (2.8%)
                      Orthodox Christianity (1%)
                      Other Christian (1.7%)
                      Islam (1.1%)
                      Other religion (1.8%)
                      No religion (5.9%)
                      Undeclared (1.6%)

Mathematically, the only possible conclusion is that this vote represents the overwhelming will of the Roman Catholic community of Ireland.

Apparently, they rammed it down their own throats.

You fail math forever. The result was 62.1 percent in favor. Assuming equal distribution of the vote (ie, all religions equally represented, and assuming that Ireland is 75 percent Catholic, and assuming that 100 percent of non-Catholics supported it...

That leaves us to conclude that of the 62.1 percent, 25 percent came from Non-Catholics, and 37 percent of the Catholics supported it.

Catholic vote was 37-63 against gay marriage.

Even if we assume 84 percent is the correct number (which it's not, given the sample's urban bias), that would gives us 47-53. The Catholic vote did not provide majority support, even by the 2011 numbers (which are not the same as the others).

37 percent of 75 percent of the total population is 27.75% of the total population, so according to your "math" only 52.75% of electorate voted yes. That's wrong.

                            62.1 - 25 = 37.1
                            37.1/75 = .494
If 75% of the electorate was Catholic, a minimum of 49.4% of Catholics voted yes.

Even if we assume 84 percent is the correct number (which it's not, given the sample bias), that would gives us 47-53. The Catholic vote did not provide majority support, even by the 2011 numbers (which are not the same as the others).
                            62.1 - 16 = 46.1
                            46.1/84 = .549
If 84% of the electorate was Catholic, a minimum of 54.9% of Catholics voted yes.

i don't recall me personally ever outlawing catholicism, or indeed catholics being put in camps, but it's your paranoid fantasy i suppose.

yes if we make lots of unfounded assumptions then we can come to the conclusion that almost half of catholics supported gay marriage.

assuming that 100 percent of non-Catholics supported it
why assume that catholics have a monopoly on bigotry?

edit: i should have known, you can't even add up.
