My mom's mom is very into that way of life and taught me lots of it. And there's way more to it than just 'boiled meat', et al. It would explain a lot about you if you think that getting in touch with my heritage is 'racism', but I suppose that applies only to white people.

Perhaps that explains more as to why I've taken up with the Catholics.
I do have Catholic ancestors but they are German Catholics, from OstPreuben which is quite unusual. There's a story there, but none of us knew. We only found out when we went through the parish records (or rather my cousin did), when she finally found out where they came from, on the birth record of her mother, who had just recently passed on. We had been told she was born in Canada. This was not so.
