Conversations are like flowcharts. All you have to do is anticipate every likely response to what you plan on saying. It helps if you speak in long monologues so that the ratio of how much you talk to how much the other person talks is high.Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.

In truth, I've only got my opening monologue planned out. In fact, my current therapist often leaves me silent for half a minute as I try to construct a response to what she's said. This is not usually true for me in conversation.
(Yes, I'm usually silent in conversation with strangers, but not because I'm trying to construct a response to an unanticipated statement.)Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.
