        no offence, but perhaps you should start looking for advice. from what you've posted here, it seems that you've handled the situation badly and played a part in creating a drama which could now impact on your friend's wedding. worse still, all of this could have been easily avoided.

                  I'm a little weary of the whole "I'm not asking for advice, now here's how I've managed to royally screw something incredibly simple up" particularly when it is followed by "I am literally incapable of not making the obviously bad decision". I don't buy that for one goddamn second. Man up.

                    In fact, explaining it to her is completely counter productive. He should have just said "that was a long time ago" and then walked off and enjoyed the wedding with people he did want to spend time with. That's how you show you're over it and to do anything more just shows you're not over it and gives her more power without any good reason. This is called the mature response and it doesn't involve petty **** like saying "STAY AWAY FROM ME!!!" or other stupid drama which doesn't belong at your friend's wedding.
