This doesn't seem that hard to believe. I've met Lori, and he struck me as a somewhat passive/non-confrontational person. Seriously, he's quieter than most deaf-mutes. Also, unless I'm thinking of someone else, he has previously described this girl as a certifiable nutjob, as well as manipulative. Crazy women are very good at getting their way with men (and women) who aren't good at standing up to them. I assume Lori was sober, but the second head may have been thinking more than the first, etc. Also, there may well be old wounds that this girl is good at sticking knives in.Comment

Just got home from a long drive through the snow. So here's a fuller post...
After I replied to EBF about why she would want to interact with me, she sent me this message:
EBF: Because I love & value you & the amazing, formative relationship we had. I would like to be able to talk with you while we are in the same space at least. I have no bad feelings associated w interacting w you other than about you not wanting to. Your being helped greatly to shape my being (some of the best parts of my being) & it's kind of cosmically heart breaking to be actively closed out. I certainly have grown as a person & I suspect you have too, but why should that prevent communication? I'm curious about who you are now, how you've changed & how you've stayed the same.
I will always love & cherish you even if you never choose to speak to me again. I am extremely grateful for you & all you have been & done in my life

I didn't have a chance to respond to that before the wedding. At the wedding, I did a spectacular job of avoiding her for a good 7 hours. Unfortunately, the whole thing lasted 9 hours, and my brother was having a good time (drinking) and didn't want to leave. A 9 hour party, btw, is about 8 hours too long for me. Eventually, exhausted from all of the socializing, I escaped to a little room off to the side to be by myself for awhile. Then EBF cornered me and we talked.
Yeah, I had fun talking to her, but that's exactly the problem. It's so easy for me to talk to her and have fun with her, and that's part of why my interactions with her in the past have been so dangerous. It's not easy for me to talk to most people. EBF has always been so alluring to me because our communication was so effortless. But I don't want to be reminded of any of that, because when she and I were close I made bad, mother****ing bad decisions. She scares the **** out of me. I don't trust myself around her. So yeah, failing to simply make brief small talk and walk away means I ****ed up.
On an unrelated note, the wedding was held in a private residence currently occupied by Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer (both of whom were present) and originally owned by John Kenneth Galbraith. So that was pretty ****ing rad. And my high school girlfriend, the bride, was ridiculously happy about everything, and I'm ridiculously happy for her. ****, I even cried a bit during the ceremony, which I don't do in public and have certainly never done at a wedding.
Anywho, I'd like to ask again, exactly what is so unbelievable about my story? I'm genuinely curious. I'm not terribly surprised, given that I've left out a lot of details (this is a story that's taken place over the course of 11 years), but I don't know what about it is coming across as false.Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.
