Obama ran a terrible campaign in 2012.

He won the election with an economy in the ****ter. That's pretty damn impressive.

Romney and McCain weren't necessarily bad candidates. But when your policies basically ruin the country, it's hard to win elections.

McCain went nutty with a series of truly bad decisions: Palin, suspending his campaign during the financial crisis and then sitting on his thumbs, and angry McCain during the debates.

Romney made a series of strategic errors and made the unfortunately mistake of showing his true colors too frequently.

I thought Romney was a solid candidate at the time but hindsight has shown that how weak a candidate he was at least based on the weakness of his national campaign (Project Orca, seriously?) and the soft ground game he had. He also seemed more comfortable going on the offensive against his GOP primary opponents than he was wrt Obama even after the President's campaign accused him of being a murderer and a tax cheat.

I kind of wish Chris Christie had allowed himself to be drafted by people at the time who were disaffected with the field of contenders.

The Democratic circlejerk about the Republican party being finished ignores some very serious issues:
1. Unions are declining and that's draining tons of Democratic votes out of the Midwest
2. White people are voting more Republican and that's also draining votes out of the South and Midwest
3. There actually aren't very many good Democratic candidates; Hillary gets touted a lot based on her popularity as Secretary of State, which has declined a ton and Secretary of State popularity is always pretty high; there is a reason we don't have President Colin Powell.

And that's just for the President. Republicans will probably control the House until at least 2020, and have at least an even shot at taking the Senate in 2014.

Congress passed a budget. The Senate majority leader Harry Reid (Dem) refused to take it up for a vote. And yes - this would have triggered a non confidence motion and new elections if this were Westminster.

The only people who care about those FOX Benghazi fantasies are the dumb ****s who will vote GOP without fail regardless.

Unless the GOP do a radical shift of approach, the demographics are absolutely horrific for them. Their numbers for 'minorities' are in the gutter, at a time when minorities are going to become majorities in many states in the not too distant future. Oh and they've also managed to turn away lots of women, whom last time I checked were also a majority. Not really smart policy.

And that's just for the President. Republicans will probably control the House until at least 2020, and have at least an even shot at taking the Senate in 2014.
