He won the election with an economy in the ****ter. That's pretty damn impressive.I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara

McCain went nutty with a series of truly bad decisions: Palin, suspending his campaign during the financial crisis and then sitting on his thumbs, and angry McCain during the debates.Originally posted by Sava View PostRomney and McCain weren't necessarily bad candidates. But when your policies basically ruin the country, it's hard to win elections.
Romney made a series of strategic errors and made the unfortunately mistake of showing his true colors too frequently.“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”

Romney was too gaff prone, which is VP territory.Originally posted by DinoDoc View PostI thought Romney was a solid candidate at the time but hindsight has shown that how weak a candidate he was at least based on the weakness of his national campaign (Project Orca, seriously?) and the soft ground game he had. He also seemed more comfortable going on the offensive against his GOP primary opponents than he was wrt Obama even after the President's campaign accused him of being a murderer and a tax cheat.
I kind of wish Chris Christie had allowed himself to be drafted by people at the time who were disaffected with the field of contenders.“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”

He only had to beat Romney. If republicans had nominated a competent candidate who actually had a personality - they would have won.He won the election with an economy in the ****ter. That's pretty damn impressive.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

If the republicans don't participate in the next presidental election, they're finished as a serious contender for presidency.Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.-Isaiah 41:10

lol if you think Hillary can win in 2016 after the fiasco in Libya and her abysmal performance as secretary of state.
The Democratic circlejerk about the Republican party being finished ignores some very serious issues:
1. Unions are declining and that's draining tons of Democratic votes out of the Midwest
2. White people are voting more Republican and that's also draining votes out of the South and Midwest
3. There actually aren't very many good Democratic candidates; Hillary gets touted a lot based on her popularity as Secretary of State, which has declined a ton and Secretary of State popularity is always pretty high; there is a reason we don't have President Colin Powell.
And that's just for the President. Republicans will probably control the House until at least 2020, and have at least an even shot at taking the Senate in 2014.

No she isn't, ******. I thought your Columbia Business School oath prohibited you from lying? What is the email address of the registrar I can complain to about this? The 2008 election gave us Sarah Palin. That she's still politically relevant in the party

The only people who care about those FOX Benghazi fantasies are the dumb ****s who will vote GOP without fail regardless.Originally posted by regexcellent View Postlol if you think Hillary can win in 2016 after the fiasco in Libya and her abysmal performance as secretary of state.
Unless the GOP do a radical shift of approach, the demographics are absolutely horrific for them. Their numbers for 'minorities' are in the gutter, at a time when minorities are going to become majorities in many states in the not too distant future. Oh and they've also managed to turn away lots of women, whom last time I checked were also a majority. Not really smart policy.Originally posted by regexcellent View PostThe Democratic circlejerk about the Republican party being finished ignores some very serious issues:

Actually, the demographics aren't too bad. White liberals are pretty much driving themselves into extinction. No kids = no future.Unless the GOP do a radical shift of approach, the demographics are absolutely horrific for them.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.
