You're saying there's nothing in the bible about not harming a fellow man?

Why waste time and money tortureing them bullet through the head is going to cost the tax payers much less in the long run.

Oh and for the tape, I believe I was bought in a white christian enviroment but I myself do not consider myself a church goer.

Im white working class and these bastards want to kill my family, so **** them all to hell.

        Turn the other cheek, yes.

How would that bar confinement and sleep deprivation? Christ speaks specifically about physical violence.

How would Jesus react to seeing a man being tortured?

          Would he condone it?

What did he do to the theives on the cross? "Today you will be with me in paradise."

Do you have evidence that Christ himself released people from the cross prior to his own crucifixion? Christ himself said, that you should avoid taking a brother to court, because justice would not be served. Disputes should be settled among the brethren without recourse to the secular authorities.

Christ always drew a clear line between the secular authorities, "render unto Caesar", and between the church. Now if you asked me if the church were justified in engaging in torture, I would say no. But wrt to the civil authorities and the state, that's an entirely different issue.

Anyone who tortures is evil. The Church is evil.

It is unkind, cruel, and shows a lack of respect for the fellow man. Be a real Christian and process the ideals your religion claims to hold dear.

What was the fvcking point of merging these threads?
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

So would Jesus approve of torture as long as it was done by his followers?

                    That is a fair comment.

I knew it. You'd rather blow Osama than get vital information out of him. This is why we should never have a gay or even metrosexual president.

I too would like to see specific definitions of what is and isnt torture and if and when specific methods are allowable. Thats why I support a "9/11-style" commission with non-partisan members to investigate and report on the truth of the matter. We all know that it will never be addressed by the jellyfish politicians in government.

                        • I love how all the tools saying how awful torture is can't answer the simple question of what they'd do if they caught bin Laden and intel said he knew of future attacks and the locations of dozens of major AQ terrorists.

There's no point to torturing Osama.

                            Just exile him to Texas.
