  • What? You said it's totalitarianism to torture a foreign combatant who murdered over 3500 Americans and knows of plans to kill countless more. You're an idiot and you're probably fat too.

      Sorry, that's illegal.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

I'd hope the laws could be laid aside for a Wahabist nutjob that ordered the slaughter of thousands.

        • What Christian nutjobs that ordered the deaths of millions? . . . i.e., the American government.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Like waterboarding? Because the people who decided waterboarding was torture was the US, UK, USSR, and all after WW2 when they executed some 70 Japanese officers for ordering water boarding which all victors jointly declared to be torture. We have also tried Kamar Rouge for torture specifically because they made use of waterboarding.

So really you're in a bind because we've claiming that when other people waterboard that it is torture and so we've had them executed or arrested but you're claiming when we do it then it's ok. You don't see the hypocrisy there?

Do you have evidence that Christ himself released people from the cross prior to his own crucifixion? Christ himself said, that you should avoid taking a brother to court, because justice would not be served. Disputes should be settled among the brethren without recourse to the secular authorities.
This is not relevant to the discussion at hand at all Ben.

Christ always drew a clear line between the secular authorities, "render unto Caesar", and between the church. Now if you asked me if the church were justified in engaging in torture, I would say no. But wrt to the civil authorities and the state, that's an entirely different issue.
I see your reasoning, but I don't buy it. The authorities should not be allowed anything just because it's the government.

At the current time, just Irakians or Afghans could possibly be
foreign combatants. And at the time of the Twin Towers, no one could be it.
