As a for instance, Bin Laden no more represents Muslims than David Duke represents Christians. Both represent their both vested interests only. To a lesser degree, the situation exists with less stark individuals.

It's a matter of definition. They call themselves Christian. And they have certain Christian beliefs. They just fail miserably at actually applying those beliefs.

Ok, we agree. My real point is I don't think it's fair to hold all accountable to a fanatic's actions. I don't think it's right to generalize.

I don't believe in it (in fact, I think it's almost certainly untrue) but there are a lot of things I respect about it.

Even if he's right, though, and most "Christians" are terrible people, I don't think it should be taken as a condemnation of the religion itself, but merely those who mouth the words and fail in the substance.

Once again, I agree. Televangelists like Jimmy Swaggert, as a for instance; although the same mindset exists in some everyday people. I have to totally agree with you.
