  • i dont get this you argue with a cop and u expect to be treated like a king. im sorry but the doing of this officer clearly were done cause he thought he was endanger. Im not sure there is not a one of u that would have reacted differently if this was a civil situation and the guy got out of his car to talk to u and u felt threatned, if you had a tazer u would have done the same thing. As said earlier the time to argue a ticket is not on the side of the road with traffic flying by.
When you find yourself arguing with an idiot, you might want to rethink who the idiot really is.

I'm sorry to, but clearly for different reasons.

      1) He was arguing? What was the argument...
      2) You equate "treated like a King" with "not tasered for no reason"?

If I asked the guy to get out of the car, and he did.
If I then stood between him and the back of the car, and told him to go to the back of the car, and he did...
I most certainly would not tase him.

Watch the video again. He complies with everything the cop says. That's not "arguing".

Read what I'm saying. He reacted to the car passing, moved towards the driver, there was a slight physical interaction, then the taser.

There's a huge difference between having your movement free, and being blocked in. The guy laying on the ground after being tasered obviously doesn't represent much of a physical hinderance to the officer. But when he's effectively blocking the cop's movment away from traffic, standing and facing the cop... he does.

If you want to go stand on the side of a freeway with your back to traffic hemmed in by a car door and someone (who is arguing with you and who you don't know) standing 2 feet in front of you... then I'll buy that you don't buy it.

        • There is no reason for me to post in this thread since Asher is already doing such a wonderful job at stating the obvious. Its only sad that you have to point it out for some poeple...

          • So between his options of:

            A. Moving away to the front of the car

            B. Moving to the back of the car

            C. Ordering the man out and moving to A or B.

            D. Tasering the guy then casually walking out of "danger"

            He chose D?

Exactly. You got a problem with the ticket, take it up in court. I've seen so many times where the cop is standing on the side of the road and someone tries to ram the vehicle, that I can understand why the cops are so leery being on the traffic side in any situation.

Try it yourself, standing on the traffic side of a busy highway with the door open. It's not a fun place to be and very dangerous for the police officer.

Clearly the punishment should be tasering

Ok, seriously - why do people keep bringing up this horse****? It doesn't matter whether it is or isn't the place to argue a ticket, it matters what the cop did. It's not appropriate to take your pants off in a restaurant, but if you do, it doesn't give the restaurant manager carte blache to pull out a gun and blow you away.

                        • He really does not appear to be arguing the ticket, it seems more like generic frustrage and outrage from dealing with someone who screams at you over and over and demands compliance without giving you a chance to do so.

                            B. Moving to the back of the car

C would have been a better course of action. But the best course of action would have been for the driver just to give his license and registration without *****ing about it. (Or had his license plates to begin with.)

This is why I blame the cop for being too confrontational... and the driver for being a *****.

                            D. Tasering the guy then casually walking out of "danger"
The danger was actually addressed by the tasering. At that point the driver no longer posed much of a direct physical risk. (Though he still was indirectly extending the risk.)

You're blind. Obviously the cop puts his hand on the driver to move him towards the back of the car and the driver reacts.

                              • The man himself clearly posed no danger.

Being an ass and not complying with an officer does not give the officer liscence to use extreme force.
