Asher and everyone else in this thread has demolished Donegeal, who I now think is insane. You need some sort of other job.

You cannot issue illogical orders (Eg I'm arresting you because it took you over 15 seconds to produce your license) and then taser people for arguing with you. It's just not the appropriate response in any way.

And there is no sign that the guy is attempting to attack the cop, at all. Also, you can tell the cop likes the fact that the guy is under arrest and going to jail. He likes authority. Sadistic *****.

Yes, I'd say the cop's attitude is what caused the whole fiasco in the first place. From the start the cop seems intent on being as much of a douche as possible. The cop identifies himself and asks for the ID. The driver asks what he was pulled over for, the cop tells him and then asks for the ID a second time. The guy says something we can't hear, and then the cop starts yelling, and then it goes from there.

All these taser videos remind me of the story/video posted a while back, in which a cop is recorded telling a driver he can throw him in jail/arrest him and just make up the charges, because whose word will everyone believe - the cop or some punk driver?

I think a troubling number of people go into law enforcement so they can swagger around with a gun and bully citizens whenever they have a ****ty day.

Well, given that we can't hear ANYTHING the guy says (at least I can't) then I'm gonna guess it wasn't an obscenity, since we hear almost everything else he says during the video. Probably he was saying something to the passenger - that would explain why we can't hear him, as he'd be speaking away from the open window, at a lower voice. Maybe something like "I can't believe I got pulled over for this bull****."

Whatever the guy may have said, could be a reason for a charge for insulting an officer at most, but never justify physical violence.

As I said above - the guy is an idiot for pulling the "whoa, whoa, whoa" bull instead of remaining silent and do what he's told to. The officer is a complete and utter douchebag and should be fired at the least.

No it doesnt but it does give him the right to throw u out on ur ass, which is not a lot different then any punishment the said person would deserve if he pulled off his pants in a resturant. Once again the typical comparison of apples and oranges! Like i said if any one of u were cops and pulled over an argumentive person you would taser him to. It seems very simple to me,if ur pulled over, the time to argue the ticket on the side of the road isnt gonna get u now where, but either arrested or more citations. It seems to me the driver had choices and chose the wrong one.
