This year, the NFC is definitely weaker than the AFC. All NFL statistical rankings (and derivatives like the Aikman Efficiency Ratings) need to be normalized for this. Thinking about NFL MVP. Everyone says Peyton Manning. I personally think that Drew Brees should win, as of right now anyway.

That's idiotic. Peyton Manning has a QB rating of 126 right now. In the last three games, the Colts have scored an average of 44 points per game. This is, without question, the single greatest regular season any QB in history.Originally posted by Tuberski

QB rating isn't everything. Brees has a 108 rating. The one thing Manning has on him is TD's. Brees has thrown 4 fewer INT's.
Brees is taking a team expected to finish last and has them headed to the playoffs. Manning is taking a team that was expected to go to the playoffs...to the playoffs.
But, part of my theory is where the team was expected to be vs. where they are.

Right now, I'd call Vick a below average quarterback, too. But with flashes of brilliance when it counts and he just wins.
At least give him average! 84.1 Passer rating isn't that bad. In fact it is almost the same as Byron Leftwich's 85.5. And even then, he may be an average passing QB, but an above average player.

Brees has a 108 rating.
126 is vastly different than 108 (18 points to be exact). Look at the difference between QBs who have 80 rating and those who have 98.
The one thing Manning has on him is TD's.

But Manning, is the best candidate for MVP.
